A good friend that I have known for many years came by the house to see me yesterday. We had a good time catching up. I’ve known him since my Islamorada Florida Keys days. Though prior to that I didn’t know him he was a hippie like me at about the same time I was, and we both lived in Atlanta and New Orleans at about the same time.
I didn’t know him, but his brother was a bartender in the same bar in New Orleans that I was bartending at the same time I was. Then one day my buddy shows up in the keys and unbeknownst to me he was working for me painting my house. We discovered what we had in common and talked for hours and reminisced about experiences we had endured.
He was an orphan as a child and lived on the street and was as wild as I was and even got shot in the back in Atlanta. Fact is stranger than fiction. It is wonder we lived through it.
My friend became a Catholic and I talked him into becoming a born-again follower of Christ.(Sorry Catholics) He remains a Christ follower to this day. Don’t ever think that you or anyone you know cannot have your life turned around with Christ at the helm. I’m so happy to see him again and look forward to seeing him for eternity. We are both very blessed.
