Did you ever wish that you could just start over with all things new? Whether we realize it or not, when we become Christians that is exactly what happens. The Bible teaches that when we accept Christ as our Savior, old things have passed away and we become “new creations”. We experience a spiritual transformation whereby sin is defeated by the blood of Jesus, thereby cleansing our dark souls to a beautiful white with no blemish. We become inhabited by the Holy Spirit of God and are guided by Him.   The “guiding” comes in the form of our conscience for one thing.

We are instructed by the Bible that those who have accepted Christ as their Savior, “Should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again”,
2 Cor. 5:15. We should all ask ourselves this morning whether or not we are living for Jesus Christ. Have things changed in our lives since accepting Jesus? Do we have a conscience? If we are not living for Jesus, then for whom are we living? Are we “new” creations of light? Or are we old creatures of darkness still serving a loser named satan. The choice is ours . . .

Now for some really good news. A new creature will also need a new body, right? When Christians pass through the valley of the “shadow” of death, (or the rapture if it happens in our lifetime), we go to receive our new “glorified” bodies.  (I’m looking forward to getting rid of the aches and pains beginning to accumulate in this old body and getting that new body.) This will complete the new creation process.

______________
2 Cor. 5:17
Therefore if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation;
old things
have passed away;
behold all things
have become new.
