I was delighted to accept an invitation to offer my testimony via videotaped interview to a group interested in interviewing select entrepreneurs during the Inc. Magazine top 500/5000 conference and awards ceremony in a couple of weeks.

Their site is going to be called “Tools for Success” and they are taping segments with some of the various entrepreneurs like me who will be speaking at this event. They will be exploring the secrets to their success and then sharing it with their audience on the Internet. They will have free and premium interviews available on the site and I insisted that my segment be listed as a free listing because I want my acknowledgement that the secret to my success is the Lord available to anyone who cares to listen to it.

My contact person told me that they were keenly interested in hearing my story because there are not that many Bible based entrepreneurs out there. Hmmm I suspect there are more than they know, but some are afraid to come out of the closet. Many in upper management are worried about discrimination lawsuits and offending those of other faiths and thus keep their beliefs private.

Personally I think this wrong. The Bible instructs us to go throughout the world and proudly and boldly share our faith. It seems to me that if one sincerely has complete faith in Jesus Christ that they would comprehend that the degree of success that they might enjoy is dependent upon Him. If someone is ashamed to admit that they are a believer or suppress that fact in an effort to win business from someone who might be offended by the Christian belief system, how could they expect to be fully blessed by God?

I am launching two new companies and both I am proud to say are Bible based. We recently installed a big framed iteration of the Ten Commandments in my new office. It is the first thing that anyone sees when they walk in the front door. At our new company top management readily acknowledge that God is in full control of our lives and reigns supreme. Without Him we are nothing; with Him we can achieve anything within His will for our lives.

Face it we are weak and fragile. God is all powerful. The Bible teaches, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. If you really believe that, then team up with Him and watch your business and life skyrocket into the winner’s circle. And when you get there, acknowledge it was Him that blessed you and helped you get there and thank Him, because without Him we are nothing

God has some strong words for those who refuse to acknowledge Jesus. Although this passage is geared towards those who don’t believe that Christ is the Son of God, I think it also has some bearing to those who cower in the closet, afraid someone might find out they are a Christian. Don’t listen to me, listen to what the Holy Spirit has to say about it.

1 John 2:23
Who is a liar but he who denies
That Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist
Who denies the Father and the
Son.
