It could happen to YOU!

I personally know some people who have lost everything in Hurricane Katrina except their lives and a few clothes. One is still trapped at this very moment in the Wyndam Hotel with her children in downtown New Orleans on the 14th floor in a stairwell with the water filling the lower floors and continuing to rise. There is no power, no water, no food, or sewage available and Lord knows when they can be evacuated.
And when they are evacuated, where do they go? It is one thing to watch it on television; it is another to see their dilemma first hand.
Consider if today YOU were to suddenly lose your job, your home, all of your possessions and you had to travel perhaps hundreds of miles away from your home and stay in a motel. You have maybe a couple of hundred dollars in your pocket and it may be months before you can go home and check on what might be left. You have no family outside of the devastated area and thus nowhere to go. What do you do? Where do you go?




Millions of people are in that very situation and THEY ARE THE LUCKY ONES! Others are dead or seriously injured in addition to what was previously mentioned. Urgent prayer is needed. Ask God to comfort these people and give them strength and to provide resources to rebuild their lives. Ask God for a miracle. Ask God for mercy. Ask God to lead YOU and guide you towards helping the victims in some way. I again urge you to prayerfully consider giving to the Salvation Army, Red Cross, or other organization today. This disaster is too big for our government to handle alone. Individuals, particularly those of us who profess to be Christians, need to step up to the plate and make sacrificial gifts to our fellow human beings. God has blessed you now use those blessings to help others. The time for action is now!
