My good friend Thierry Kobes has finally succumbed to the ravages of his brain tumor and has joined the Lord. He is free at last from his diseased body and now has a new glorified body that is perfect.

Our loss is heaven’s gain! As we mourn our loss, the angels of heaven rejoice. By now he will have had the pleasure of meeting His heavenly Father and will have moved into his mansion. He will have joined family and friends who preceded him and will be catching up on old times.
Heaven will never be the same. Take it from me Thierry is a wonderful addition.

I will personally miss Thierry very much. He was truly an inspiration to all who knew him. He was always optimistic and always smiling. We shared a love for Jesus and enjoyed talking about Him at every opportunity. No matter what restaurant we were in and no matter who was in attendance, Thierry always wanted to offer thanks to the Lord. It was sometimes difficult for me to understand his slurred speech brought on by the tumor, but I have no doubt that God understood perfectly. I will never forget the last time Thierry and I dined together. The chemotherapy drugs that he was taking had cracked his lips horribly and the steroids had swollen his body out of proportion. One would think that he might dare to complain a little. Instead all he talked about was how good God is and what wonderful blessings God had given him.

True to form in his final few days, Thierry became obsessed with worrying about everyone around him, not his own pain and suffering. He wanted to make sure that everyone had personally accepted Jesus Christ so they would be able to join him in heaven.

As Thierry entered into his final couple of days, many of his friends came by and invariably would end up crying. One of Thierry’s children, Christian, asked why everyone was crying, “Don’t they know daddy is going to heaven to be with Jesus? Yes Christian, but we are going to miss him terribly.

Surely goodness and mercy
Shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of
The Lord
Forever.
