I attended Thierry Kobes’ funeral Saturday. Thierry wanted it to be a celebration and he wanted people to hear the Word of God. Thierry got his last wish; we celebrated and heard the Word of God preached for an hour and a half. We laughed, we cried. I would invite each of you to watch Thierry’s unedited testimony on the website, whataboutlife.com.
His testimony as well as Florida State coach Bobby Bowdon and Georgia coach Marc Richt are on this website.
Thierry and I had some things in common. Neither of us became a Christian until later in life, and we both had been wild. Thierry was 28 years old when he finally surrendered his life to Jesus. Once he became a Christian, he developed a strong desire to share what the Lord had done for him with others. He loved his God and he loved his family. This is what I will always remember the most about Thierry.
There were many nice things said about Thierry Saturday, but to a person everyone’s over-riding final thoughts were that Thierry had a deep love for Jesus Christ, and that he was deeply concerned about those who have not yet accepted Jesus as their Savior. His was not a hidden concern.
He was not embarrassed or ashamed to talk to others about God’s eternal plan. He wanted everyone to share in what he had been able to obtain, peace with God and solid assurance of his eternal existence in God’s presence.
Thierry believed, as I believe that it does not matter where you have been in life, it only matters where you are going. There is no sin too big for the blood of Jesus to cleanse, and there is no one that He would ever turn away. He stands at the door and knocks”, all you have to do is let him in your heart today. Once that occurs, follow Thierry’s example and share the Word of God with others.

I do, forgetting those things which
are behind and reaching forward to
those things which are ahead.
It doesn’t matter where you have been
