Many have written to me about having anxiety. Indeed, billions of dollars are spent on trying to lead a normal life when they are experiencing it. Anyone who is a Christ follower doesn’t need to take tranquilizers and other drugs to mask their fear, it is all so unnecessary. Jesus told us repeatedly not to worry, (some 75 times). He told us how foolish it is to worry and told us to trust in Him and not to be anxious about tomorrow as tomorrow would take care of itself. We should turn our worries over to Him and let Him resolve them.
Sadly, if I was a betting man I would wager that 99% of His followers do not adhere to this warning. If you are worried about something, then give it up to the Lord and have faith that He will handle it. Trying to resolve it on your own will not work. I have tried it many times and I cannot pull it off because it is a sin to worry, and no one can turn dark sin into something good. Today I try to take everything that occurs on this earth like a grain of salt. (Including elections).
It is a sin and insult to God to reject His offer to help. His way of solving problems is not how most would approach it. We must remember that God is our Creator, and it is He that knows what is best for us. If young children are taken away from us or someone dies unexpectedly we must trust that He has a good reason, a Holy reason for doing so. This is difficult to do and impossible to accomplish without deep faith.
The solution is to pray to God shore up your faith when in a tight spot and ask God to build a hedge of protection around you and your family. When tragedy strikes grit your teeth and grieve, but don’t be anxious.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
