I watched the Imus Morning Show this morning with disgust whereby Sid Rosenthal made fun of Jesus and those who profess faith in him. My reaction to this jerk is a very strong desire to take this guy out and beat the crap out of him. I was still steamed as I came to my desk to write WFTD. I turned to a chapter in Mark where Jesus willingly allowed Himself to be crucified for our sins. It describes in detail how Jesus suffered as He paid the penalty for my sins and Sid Rosenbergs sins. Jesus loves us with a pure love. My worldly approach to Sid Rosenberg is not consistent with the pure love of Jesus. He wants me to pray for this guy and try to lead Him to the cross, not take him out and beat the crap out of him. He wants me to forgive him as Christ asked His Father to forgive those who crucified Him. It is hard to imagine the pure love of Christ and how His grace works. Grace is easy to say, but very difficult to understand. The same is true for forgiveness.

The Bible teaches that Gods ways are not the same as mankinds ways. This is but another example. Jesus told us that the two greatest commandments are to first love God with all of our hearts and souls, and second to love each other. If your desire is to be like Jesus, (as it should be), then this is perhaps the greatest challenge. Simply put, I do not believe that I can do it alone. Fortunately the Bible states that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. I for one cannot do it alone. Gods indwelling Spirit will be mightily needed when faced with the Sid Rosenthals of the world. One day we all will face God for judgment. At that point it will be too late for those who have rejected Jesus to obtain Gods forgiveness; until then there is hope for all, and we are commanded to minister to the entire world whether we like it or not.

Mark 15:17

And they clothed Him with

Purple and they twisted a crown of

Thorns, put it on His head,

And began to salute Him, Hail

King of the Jews!

Then they struck Him on the

Head with a reed and spat on Him;

And bowing the knee, they

Worshipped Him.

And when they had mocked

Him, they took the purple off Him,

Put His own clothes on Him, and led

Him out to crucify Him.

How well do you know the Bible?

When Christ was crucified a man was compelled to carry his cross for Him. Who was the man? Where was he from?

Mark 15:21
