Slowing down

As the years roll by I am annoyed sometimes because I am slowing down. Im not as strong as I once was, Im not as fast; my reflexes are not what they once were. It is not all bad though. Yesterday I found out something about a person who I have been helping literally for years that really upset me. This person has lied to me and even bragged to another about how they are taking advantage of me. In years past I would have had an ugly confrontation, now I just sadly shake my head. Indeed this person will not remain in my confidence as I cannot be around deliberate liars, and the party is over with my helping hand. My belief is that if one will lie, they will do most anything. This is the second time this person has lied about the same thing to me. I will not be around a liar and I will shake the dust off my feet and banish them from my life. I will not however let them provoke me to burning rage. In my old age I have achieved a milestone which is good.

James 1:19

let every man be swift to hear,

slow to speak, slow to wrath;

for the wrath of man does not

produce the righteousness of God.
