No it is not a typographical error to say Happy New You! The new year should yield a new you and me. We all have resolutions and goals, right? What if someone told you that you could have only one goal this year? What would it be? Mine would be to be more like Jesus Christ. We of course have goals to shed pounds, quit cussin, fussin and lustin, and so on, but to be more like Jesus should top all of our lists.
How should we work towards achieving our goals? The Bible has something to say about the way we should work towards obtaining our prize.
1 Cor.9:24
Do you know that those who
run in a race all run, but one receives
the prize? Run in such a way that
you may obtain it.
And everyone who competes for
the prize is temperate in all things.
Now they do it to obtain a perishable
crown.
Therefore I run thus: not with
uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one
who beats the air.
But I discipline my body and
bring it into subjection, lest when
I have preached to others, I myself
should become disqualified.
How well do you know the Bible?
The Bible states that the entrance to Hell and destruction is broad and many choose its easy path. It states that the ___________ to heaven is narrow and difficult is the way which leads to life, and that there are few who find it. Fill in the blank…(Carefully think about it or you will miss this one due to semantics. Hint: Jesus could be substituted for the word that goes in here…)
