I am safely back home and while it is great to be at home I will miss those whom I met in Fiji. The people there are the friendliest and most joy-filled folks I’ve ever been around. I’ve had some time to think about this phenomenon and I truly believe the entire kingdom has been blessed by almighty God. The people there are very conservative and ask those who visit to adhere to their dress code which means that there aren’t any girls wearing thongs at least on Sunday. They also ask those who visit to dress conservatively. God is very important in their society and Sunday is a sacred day and that means to set it aside for worship of God.

Contrast that with Haiti for example and though similar in size, their society which is based on Voo Doo and black magic is not joyful and bands of criminals operate with impunity. It is the worst of the worst on that island which could be just like Fiji were if not for the evil that is present. It is darkness on earth, and it is ample proof to show what happens when Voo Doo becomes the national religion versus Jesus Christ.

The natives of Fiji are amazing people and everywhere you go you will hear “Bula” which means welcome. It is heartfelt and one only needs too look as far as the warm smile on their faces to confirm it. I will likely never go back simply because of the long 20 hours plus flight but I will have fond memories forever for the kind and loving people of Fiji. It reminds me of this Psalm:

Psalm 119:1
“Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts”.
