I trust you had a good Easter Sunday. My wife and I went to church for the first time since my head banging incident two and a half months ago and I was thankful to be alive and in that congregation. The preacher preached an extraordinary message and then we went to a neighbor’s house and ate some lunch with his family.

I’ve been back home almost two weeks and have no complaints. My right hand is still trembling, and I don’t know if it will restored or God will leave it as is as a reminder. I’m working hard in therapy to stop the trembling but can live with or without it.

Much of what I do is typing. If my keyboard had a brain and could talk it would probably ask what’s going on because I try to punch it down when my trembling hand passes over the key that I need to hit.  I miss quite often necessitating the need to go back and correct it. My friend in Tallahassee told me about a software package where you can dictate whatever you want using a computer and it would be typed thus reducing my time by 80 %. I normally prefer typing because speed is not helping improve my coordination or properly sorting brain signals.

I slowly am getting around to answering as many of the get well cards and letters that I can. If you don’t receive one soon just be patient. I thank you for your prayers and please know that I appreciate every last one of them whether I acknowledge it or not.

Easter Sunday coming at this time of the year was timely. After church I enjoyed hanging around the house and watching bald eagles off my back porch as they hunted for breakfast. I went fishing yesterday morning and caught two nice bass before I got too tired and called it a day. I have next to zero on the stamina front these days and can easily get worn out by merely walking around my pond.

All in all it was a splendid day of worship and relaxation. I pray that you had a similar experience, and I can truly say thank you to God for extending my days on this planet. I am trying my utmost to lead a righteous life instead of wallowing in sin as I did in my early life. To live righteously is to conduct one’s life in an upright manner and with moral standards that reflect our relationship with the lord as a representative of the kingdom of God. In all that we do, we should mirror his ways. This will mean in the face of evil, do what is right. We should enjoy the things I just mentioned and abhor evil. To live for righteousness means to desire God to transform our minds (Romans 12:2) and conform us “to the image of His Son” (Romans 8:29). When we live righteously and show mercy, the result will be blessings from God. Those blessings may be physical, but they most certainly are spiritual.

My blessings are both. Try it for a while and see if you don’t agree.

Proverbs 21:21
He who follows righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.
