I just got home from the hospital. Praise God for sparing me. I was trying to go through heaven’s door when I heard, “Go back and do some more!”
In case you are wondering what I’m talking about. I got home this Tuesday after being in the hospital for 8 weeks having brain surgery (ICU for two weeks). Later I was transferred to Atlanta from Dallas to a hospital room for another 2 weeks. All in all, I was in the hospital for 10 weeks.
By the way, did I mention I was one week into our vacation in Costa Rica when I collapsed. And the doctor told me that I could not fly out of there? Another story for another day . . . Lol
So, what was wrong? I knocked the heck out of my head a few weeks back while using heavy equipment on my farm and unbeknownst to me it caused a brain bleed. My speech began to become more and more confused and less coherent, and I could not finish a sentence. What I did not know was deep down inside my brain it was bleeding as was the area surrounding and just inside my skull primarily the left side. Before the operation the doctor told Teresa that I might get out of it with a stroke, but the odds were against me and to prepare for the worst.
Thank God that she ignored him and instead went directly to you with her updates. She asked for prayer. It was God who answered by sending a powerful message to followers of Christ everywhere. “I am is still on the throne”
When I got to Atlanta I surprised everyone when I began walking unassisted just days after I arrived. Currently my thoughts are fine, my speech is good, balance adequate, and the only reminder of this ordeal is I have is a tremor in my right hand ( which makes it difficult to type this.)
This was truly a modern-day miracle.
I intend to begin writing a book about this ordeal very soon while still fresh on my mind. At any rate this is where I am and things can only get better. All in all I was in the hospital for 10 weeks.
