I read on the internet the other day that someone stated that Christianity was not about redemption or having Jesus petition God on our behalf, but to teach us how to live. Now I wonder how they came up with that little nugget. It did not come from the Bible; I can assure you of that. I must assume it came straight out of hell. It’s just like Satan to take a portion of truth, (living a good life), and combining it with antichrist fake news in an attempt to make it more believable.
Jesus Christ came to earth for the express purpose of redemption. Lest you think God is not that concerned with sin, STOP and think for a moment about Him sending His Son to die for our sins in order that we might live forever with Him. Is God concerned about sin? Would you send your child to a grisly death to obtain victory over it? You can be assured that sin is the wedge that separates us from our Creator and He spared nothing in His desire to restore us.
If whoever wrote that could live a life without sin, there would be no problem. If we could live a sterling life, the kind of life that God demands, would we greet God at the pearly gates? Unfortunately, this is a dumb question for no one can see heaven by being good enough to go there without the blood of Christ covering our sins because it is impossible. The Bible states that no one, save Jesus ever lived a life without sin, thus He had to become the sacrifice who endured and took on the punishment for the sins of the world. Thus the impossible became possible.
How do we take advantage of that? Through faith in Jesus’ as God, as evidenced by His life, death, and resurrection. This combined with asking for forgiveness of our sins and repentance or changing our life to follow Jesus and not the world. The Bible does tell us the law as it pertains to living our lives free of sin; because it cannot be accomplished without the Lamb’s blood and intercession of the Holy Spirit and even then we sometimes ignore His leadership of our lives and sin after we became believers. Jesus is the only one who could lead a sinless life. Even after we accept Him as our Savior and vow to follow Him through thick and thin, we still experience sin that we must confess and repent of it.
As true believers we will want to lead the life that Christ desires for us more than anything and God supplies His word and the Holy Spirit to help us traverse this wicked world. Satan has his snares and traps along the way, and we must remain diligent. As a starter don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Fake news spread by antichrists abounds at every turn. The one thing that NEVER changes is the Holy Bible. Have you ever read it cover to cover? Then start today.
1 Peter 5:8
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
