Yesterday was one of those days! If every day was like yesterday, I would try some hemlock. Fortunately, every day is not a bummer. We have enough of the bad to make us appreciate the good. Beware of allowing the bad times to overwhelm you and try to keep your spirits high in spite of the rain. Rainy stormy days always yield to sunny beautiful days and keep in mind that the process will soon repeat itself.
Last night when I said my prayers, I told the Lord that I had a rough day and I felt bad and then I asked for His help in keeping my spirits high despite the problems around me and asked for His help in working my way through them in a calm manner. I immediately felt His presence and His peace descend upon me and it felt good. I don’t know if you’ve ever experienced this feeling, but there is none other like it.
God loves us and wants to help us. It’s my understanding of the Bible that He actively wants us to ask for His help. Indeed, it’s my belief that is one of the prime reasons that He even allows bad times. He does not want us to rely on our own wiles to get us through this world and compete with the wiles of Satan.
He wants to be number one in our lives. As we jet through this fast-paced world with every minute scheduled to the hilt, we must remember to make time for the Lord. How should we use that time? Studying His Word, (the Bible), constant prayer, fellowship with other Christians hopefully when you attend church, and by telling others about our Savior.
Our spirit will never be broken if we will just make time for the Lord and put Him first in our lives. Start and end your day today by praying to the Lord for His help and guidance in becoming the kind of son or daughter that He wants us to be. The Bible states that God hears every prayer and that He will sustain us through all the storms this world can muster, if we will only believe and ask Him to come into our hearts.
Proverbs 18:14
The spirit of a man will sustain
him in sickness,
But who can bear a broken
spirit?
