I have nearly completed my latest adventure. I’m going striped bass fishing today in Georgia and on a float trip for trout in Tennessee later in the week with my son Michael and then I’m heading south to visit two different locations in Florida. I’ll be stopping at Carrabelle Florida for snapper and grouper with a good friend who lives there in the panhandle and then further south to fish for Wahoo in Stuart with one of my pals there, as I fish my way home.
I have discovered that things are never as bad as they seem. It was very good to go out west and see some things for myself. When I decided to visit Oregon, California, and Alaska I was a little paranoid that I didn’t have my handgun with me. My Florida conceal-carry permit was not good in those states. I’d read so much about Portland Oregon and wacko California bastions of chaos where Antifa, legalized drugs, defund the police proponents, BLM, crooked politicians, and other various scums and criminals roamed the streets with impunity that I was shocked to find that I didn’t see any of those factions. I knew Alaska was supposed to be ultra-liberal, but I didn’t find that to be the case either. I only met good decent people on my entire trip. They are disgusted with the media and especially in having freedoms taken away the same as I am.
One thing I did find was an abundance of churches in California, Oregon, and especially Alaska. Not only were there churches seemingly everywhere we went, but their parking lots were full of church goers on Sundays. I was stunned to see this. Admittedly mine was but a small informal sampling but I did cover thousands of miles containing cities, townships, and villages. I am convinced that things are not as bad as they seem. I attribute much of the negative to social and mainstream media.
Yesterday I went to a church service in Atlanta that was not well attended. I was told that Covid restrictions and the shutdown had stopped people from coming and when the shutdown ended, they didn’t return. One might think that Atlanta which is situated right in the middle of the Bible belt would have its churches overflowing while these other places would be deserted, especially with the state of the union being deplorable. I don’t know what to make of that but I’m convinced that the way to unleash the power of God is through prayer and hearing the Word of God.
I also believe that we often underestimate the POWER of God. Whatever He is doing in Alaska I wish He would do everywhere. I have witnessed the Holy Spirit sweep through churches, and it was so powerful I thought the pews might start flying around the room with people sitting in them. Sadly, I’ve seen churches that were more like mausoleums where it would be difficult to be deader without special training.
What is the difference? The Holy Spirit has not been welcomed and without God there is no power to combat Satan and his powerful army. It is the Holy Spirit that unleashes the power of God. If you are sick of what is occurring in this country, then try getting on your knees, (physically) and try praying for God to release power as the world has never known and then believing, Pray for as long as you can muster. I always hear the question, “What can I do? I’m just one person”.
You can pray and witness and convince others to do the same. The power of God needs to be released. It has to start somewhere. Are you dead or alive?
Contemplating the power of God is something that can benefit all believers. When we meditate on the fact that God is all-powerful, we are reassured that he is in control and that we don’t have to be. To access that power, ask Him to do so.
Matthew 2:29
Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
