2020

December 31, 2020 – Click here to listen

So another New Year is nearly upon us. Much like 911 changed air travel for good and set up TSA, I believe Covid will change America for good. Will they establish a CSA (Covid Security Agency)?  If Covid is cured will the Chinese just release another deadly strain?

I believe freedoms we have enjoyed for all of our lives will begin to permanently disappear as big government in the name of public safety will tell us when and if we can attend church, eat at a restaurant, attend weddings, go to the beach, or even leave our homes.

From where I sit 2021 is shaping up to be much worse than 2020. But being pessimistic about it doesn’t solve any problems. When I was a CEO, I had a simple formula for solving problems and the first step was always to identify it. We cannot solve a problem without first identifying it.

Okay, what is God telling us?

At a minimum my belief is that He is demonstrating His displeasure with the direction the nations of the world are taking. I don’t know if it is a dire warning to get our act together, or the beginning of the end with judgment and the shaking of the world in preparation for His return.

Argentina today is experiencing celebrations in the streets as it became the first South American country to legalize abortion and joins “Murder Inc.” the worldwide club that kills babies for profit.  Our country is apostate; as a rule the media and politicians have nothing to do with factual reporting and lies are the norm; corruption has risen to the highest offices of government and business worldwide; Christians are being reviled and are the most persecuted group in the world, violence is being celebrated as a means to an end; and sexual perversion and unspeakable sexual acts have become commonplace.

Apostasy is dragging us down a dangerous path towards hell.

As a student of End Times prophecy for many years I have read and studied Scripture about it for decades, but it is our current situation which makes those pages come alive. Heretofore, it just seemed to be words describing events that were very far off, but today I’m seeing the world racing towards Armageddon before my very eyes.

Ordinarily I’m optimistic about our nation being the shining light on the hill and excited about what the New Year will bring, but it is difficult to even say the words, Happy New Year today in a secular context . . .

Fortunately, we serve a God of hope and spiritually we do have good news about our future as Christ followers. Jesus has promised that He will be with us to the very end of this world and throughout eternity.  Perhaps God is achieving His objective of making at least some of us realize that we are not of this world and our home is in heaven and that we should not be anxious but be at peace in these turbulent times. Instead of looking at the dismal side of things, He wants us to anxiously await His joyous return and being with Him when He sets things right in this world. We will applaud when every knee bows before Him and worship as never before.

2020 puts to bed the most dismal year of my lifetime. The world is reeling from the mighty hand of God’s judgment which will intensify until the stars fall from the sky and the earth burns up. This is not a picture for the faint-hearted, unless of course you are assured of your faith and salvation.

I’ve heard people say that their poor little kids will never get to experience school, and the excitement of their careers and so on. As for me I would prefer my kids and grandkids get their education at the University of Heaven where eye has not seen or ear ever heard the wonders God has prepared for those who love Him.

The bottom line is there is nothing to fear. We are just packing and getting ready to go home my friends. Live your life in 2021 with that in mind and try to convince as many as possible to join you there before it is too late.

Psalm 23:1
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows . . .
