As I write Words for the Day today, I’m wearing a Trump MAGA hat and have a Trump flag flapping on my boat.

Some of my friends have expressed fear that someone will be offended. I’m not worried about it, if folks don’t like it, they can look the other way. I support what I believe openly and refuse to hide in a closet. Liberal thinkers, activists, media, and politicians trying to take away my basic rights to freedom of speech should know that I will not take it like some meek little lamb. I would rather die than be enslaved and I believe there are many more in this country who feel the same.
I read an article about a former green beret who fought valiantly in Iraq and became a Seattle police officer upon returning home. Officer Greg Anderson filmed himself saying he felt the need as a member of law enforcement to make his peers ask themselves, “Am I doing the right thing?” Since he refused to enforce liberal Democrat Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s stay-at-home order — and sent his Instagram message that went viral encouraging his colleagues to do the same — he has been put on administrative leave pending an investigation.
He has been a member of law enforcement for 10 years and posted the nearly nine-minute video on Instagram, expressing his belief that stay-at-home orders are unconstitutional and officers arresting or citing people for violating them are trampling on Americans’ rights. “I’ve seen officers nationwide enforcing tyrannical orders against the people,” Anderson says in the video. “I want to remind you regardless of where you stand on the coronavirus, we don’t have the authority to do those things to people just because a mayor or a governor tells you otherwise. We don’t get to violate people’s constitutional rights because someone in our chain of command tells us otherwise. It’s not how this country works.” He opined that he had seen countries ruled by dictators and he doesn’t believe the American people will allow our country to be overtaken because we love our freedom too much to allow it.
“Every time I turn on the television, every time I look to the internet, I’m seeing people arrested or cited going to church, for traveling on the roadways, for going surfing, opening their businesses, going to the park with their families or doing nails out of their own house, using their home as a place of business, I don’t want to see the citizens get to a point where we have to defend our constitutional rights against the government,” Anderson said.
He is facing losing his job for his actions.
Mark Twain once said: Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it. Right now segments of state and local government, primarily those in urban areas ruled by big spending Democrats, are acting like mini-Hitlers and driving people into bankruptcy and they don’t deserve it. I believe many of these politicians don’t want to see the country prosper in order to prevent Trump from being re-elected.
The President gets it. He is a businessman extraordinaire. He realizes that if we don’t get this country back to work, we aren’t going to have a country. This is a dangerous time and it is no time for politics as usual, but the attacks on him increase daily. Many politicians have never held a job or run a business. They haven’t lived week to week with the fear of knowing that if that next paycheck doesn’t arrive on time they won’t eat or pay the mortgage or light bill. Trump and his leadership group built the greatest economy in the history of our nation. The alternative is Joe Biden, a career politician who is as crooked as and lies like a serpent. He cannot even remember what office he is running for or what state he is in half the time. What if that guy who has never run a company or held a job was running things?
It’s spooky to think of it. I went down to check out a rental house for my son and he wanted to know how far it was from the beach. As I drove through Juno Beach the most popular beach in Palm County, I saw a police car with lights flashing sitting in the middle of the road. He was blocking the entrance to a park. I drove on down and two more were there making sure no one went for a walk on the beach. My son told me he would not come if they could not go to the beach. That means no rental fee, no restaurants, no taxes being paid and on and on. Multiply that times the million or so visitors that normally come and one can see the scope of things more clearly. If these politicians don’t want to go to the beach, let them sit at home.
California just flipped a Democrat seat to Republican by a large margin for the first time in decades. Wisconsin just elected a Republican by a wide margin. Could it be that the sleeping giant of the silent majority are finally getting fed up with these people? I pray that it is so.
Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday (if you can find one open.) If not, tune in online . . .
