So I sent out a photo wearing my Trump hat Friday and most of the responses were positive with a few of you saying you were ready to come out of the closet and wear your own Trump hat or get one soon. So some guy who supports the Democrats came out criticizing me for polluting my devotional with this photo. He said I looked like I had been “rode hard and hung up wet,” and then commented on the intellect of Trump supporters being akin to an uneducated swamp redneck.
First, I don’t even know why this guy is even reading Words for the Day when he is obviously a liberal. Second, he doesn’t have a clue as to how hard that “hard ride” was for me and how many miles are on this old body. I replied that actually I wasn’t even hung up to dry; I was just left on the floor to dry in a wrinkled heap. I admit I won’t be winning any beauty contests, however when it comes to intellect, I’m thinking this dude should just keep his big mouth shut. If the Democrat’s candidate Joe Biden is his idea of an intellectual giant, this dude just might be eligible for the Nobel Prize for science. He will have discovered the “missing link” that atheists and evolutionists have been looking for whereby an ape with knuckles dragging the ground just came down from the trees. Poor old Joe cannot remember his name, or what he is running for, or what state he is in, but he looks human.
Hmmm . . . And all this time I thought all of those deviations of early life were destroyed in the flood.
As I thought about it, I came to the conclusion that this form of thinking was decidedly mean-spirited and unchristian of me and in a magnanimous effort on my part to turn over a new leaf I thought of a way to appease my liberal friends. I decided to shoot another photo of my trump hat from a distance. No closeup of my wrinkled head or battle scars anywhere. I wore sunglasses to hide my worn-out eyes and my Trump hat to hide my gray hair and used one of my Trump flags for a cape to hide my aging body. I was well-pleased with the result and am thinking I might have just set a new trend.

I’ve been writing Words for the Day now for over two decades five times per week. I’ve written millions and millions of words and many of you and others have responded. Not everyone agrees with what I have to say each day, but it works two ways. I don’t always agree with some of the responses I get. I try not to be overly sensitive, but liberal pseudo intellectuals just seem to get under my skin. Most of them lie with reckless abandon and now they have a system in place to punish those who dare criticize their lies. It is called being politically correct.
I told a buddy of mine this morning that I do not believe a true believer and follower of Jesus could possibly support the Democrat’s platform. They are forbidden to use the word God in it, they support abortion on demand no matter how far along the pregnancy, and they support same sex marriage – and that’s just for starters.
Oh boy now I’ve done it. I’m not being politically correct. For sure I’m now permanently labeled some dimwitted redneck homophobe, racist, misogynist, (is that the same is a hygienist?) or some other horrible name.
Uh . . . Excuse me but what does the Bible say about abortion, same sex marriage and omitting God from our vocabulary? Don’t kill the messenger because you don’t like the message . . . I love the sinner and hate the sin just like Jesus does. I especially hate my own sins.
President Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed down for them to do the same.
I just finished reading the books of Genesis, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, and I’m rolling through Joshua now. God commanded Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses and later Joshua to setup memorials as they went to various places where God performed His mighty works and God told them to read the Bible to the children who would comprise the future generations of a faithful nation. He wanted them to know what their powerful God did for them. It would be pretty difficult to imagine a scenario whereby these numerous examples don’t apply to us following suite and passing on our faith knowledge to our children today. God told the Israelites to obey his commands and He would bless them abundantly; disobey them and they would incur His wrath, which by the way is what happened to them and is currently happening to us.
I hear people griping all of the time about these young people who are liberals. News Flash: They are listening to their teachers and professors and when they espouse all this junk they are reciting what they have heard. Where are the parents?
I’m not the author of the Bible, but I do know what it says and so do my kids and my grandkids are learning. I like Trump because he is not politically correct. I don’t like his arrogance and foul mouth, but he gets the job done and most importantly he has done more for Christians than any other President. And for the 100th time if you don’t want to hear me say that or see me in a Trump hat or cape, then don’t tune in . . .
And to be safe, if you love your kids and this nation, teach your children about God and His commands – Teach them yourself as much as you can while they are with you. Don’t rely on the world to distort God’s message and deceive them.
