Did you watch the halftime show at the Super Bowl? Egad it reminded me of being in a strip club on Bourbon Street way back in my dark days. I turned it off. My wife was still talking about how evil it was this morning. I also got a few e-mails about it with folks wondering what the heck is going on with the NFL.
What are you thinking NFL? Don’t you realize that little kids are watching the Super Bowl at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night? Seeing women gyrating their hips emulating having sexual relations, rubbing their crotches, stripper poles, and wearing revealing sheer costumes doesn’t celebrate women feminism; It’s demeaning to them. One of the largest audiences in the world was subjected to a hyper-sexualized performance and I wonder how people feel about it. Did you enjoy it?
Oh, but if you didn’t enjoy it and thought it was raunchy you dare not sayanything, no matter how mild your criticism about it, lest you be subjected to being loudly shouted down and labeled a puritan. People with common sense who are appalled by it are guaranteed to be battered by a “Woke” media and culture where they want anything to go. Depicting debauchery as being “normal” by portraying it as perfectly fine and healthy to air crotch shots and simulated sex on network television at 8:30 on a Sunday must be accepted, otherwise you are a prude and ignorant bumpkin.
A friend wrote about the show and said: “The finale include the two strippers who brought up all the young girls dressed in white to condone their behavior and wrap their performance in the cloak of purity. It was just evil . . . and to use those little girls that way. We wonder why sex trafficking is such a problem now. I told my wife the reason I knew it was so evil and raunchy was that I was embarrassed to look it in front of her.”
I don’t care what people say or think, we should not pretend that this show was acceptable, nor meekly nod in approval for fear of seeming like a prude who thinks football games shouldn’t have strip shows at halftime. A writer for Charisma wrote: ” . . . I think it is still worth pointing out that the Super Bowl once was and still ought to be a family affair. There is no reason why parents should have to usher their kids off to bed before half time. And there is absolutely nothing unreasonable about advocating for more family-friendly content during the biggest television event of the year. A television event that, we should note, is not aired on HBO at 10 p.m. Nobody is suggesting that everything on TV should always be appropriate for all audiences. Rather what we suggest that a football game is one of the things that should be. The only reason this one isn’t is that the producers go wildly out of their way to be as inappropriate as they can be without getting sued. They are free to make this programming choice, and we are free to point out that it is obviously an unethical and rather shameful choice.
The underlying point here is that children exist. They are members of our society. It is reasonable to insist that the NFL take the existence of children into account and refrain from staging a simulated orgy on stage during the Super Bowl. This is not an extreme demand. Nobody is calling for mandatory burka laws. We are merely calling for only the most basic, most minimal level of decency. And of course, that is too much to ask for these days. But that doesn’t mean we should stop advocating for it.”
Ugh . . . These Woke people should go back to sleep. Maybe they will dream about how the Bible refers to a beautiful woman who lacks discretion. Sadly, a Super Payday accompanies these performances and women will be lining up to cash in no matter what they must do. It will no doubt continue . . . But take heart the power of prayer can accomplish many things . . . We can pray for change in America and should.
Proverbs 11:22
“Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.”
