The Hallmark television Channel has now found itself caught in the crossfire between traditional conservatives and progressive activists for canceling an advertisement in which two lesbian women shared a kiss after One Million Moms launched a petition in protest and they pulled the ads.
I’m disgusted and sickened yet again by the power of the homosexual community and rotten media to apply pressure to businesses forcing them to promote the perverted gay lifestyle on their platforms. The Hallmark channel used to be a stalwart of wholesome family-oriented television and as it is with most companies these days capitulated when the homosexual machine turned up the heat. After the petition of mothers garnered one million signatures of folks against it and Hallmark announced it would refuse the ads in the future, surprise, surprise, today the headline is:
Hallmark Channel Apologizes, Will Allow LGBT Ads, Promises To Work With GLAAD
After facing massive backlash on social media, the Hallmark Channel has reversed course, and will allow LGBT ads. One Million Moms commented, “Until recently, Hallmark had a good record for keeping their movies and commercials family-friendly,” the petition said. “Now, parents can no longer trust Hallmark because Hallmark is no longer allowing parents to be the primary educators when it comes to sex and sexual morality. Parents need to know they could now come face-to-face with the LGBT agenda when they sit down to watch the Hallmark Channel.”
When originally pressed for comment, a spokesperson for Hallmark originally said the channel pulled the ad out of an ongoing policy to steer away from controversial content in favor of family entertainment. Critics of the decision have since been trashing Hallmark under the hashtag #BoycottHallmarkChannel.
One Million Moms quoted several viewers who expressed discontent over the Zola commercial and claimed they were caught off-guard in front of their children. One said the following:
“Our family was watching a wonderful Hallmark movie based on a true story.
It was late, but our daughter was up late with us. During the commercial
break, there was a commercial from Zola with two women lip locking! Please,
Hallmark . . . You are one of the few channels we thought we would not
have to deal with this issue! . . . We love you but won’t keep watching with this type of ads.”
On Sunday, Mike Perry, the CEO of Hallmark Cards, Inc., apologized for having caused “hurt and disappointment” for pulling the Zola ad featuring a lesbian wedding kiss, and promising to build a more inclusive atmosphere in the company’s programming.
At the risk of being called a cynic I think he is apologizing because of the almighty dollar and the bottom line. Which brings me to my final point. Why are there just One Million Moms protesting this? Where is the silent majority? Out Christmas shopping, I guess . . . It is how we are losing the battle. They are committed, we are not.
We also are now seeing a movie coming out on Netflix decrying Jesus as a homosexual. Where is the uproar? Who will say anything to protest this blasphemous movie? Or for that matter most anything we see on the big screen or television? Is everyone afraid to allow their voices to be heard? Hello? Hello?
