Yesterday several different prayer groups sent me urgent calls to pray for President Trump as he negotiated with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Vice President Pence made a special request to one of the groups that contacted me and stated that he asked for its prayer warriors to pray for the President and pray we did as Christians far and wide went to the Lord in prayer.
The results are in and after watching President Trump’s press conference and an interview this morning, it appears a deal that he is satisfied with has been reached complete with a signed document. The world is aware of past agreements and North Korea’s history of breaking of agreements and we are wary, but we are celebrating this historic summit.
A rogue nation with a purported madman with his finger on the trigger of a nuclear killing machine is not what anyone wants and the entire world, (apart from ardent Trump haters,) will celebrate. As for me I am very thankful for these early signs of progress and I intend to spend as much time thanking the Lord for my answered prayers as I did in asking Him to grant my request for peace.
Hopefully Iran will have a similar change of heart, or regime change and we can enjoy some peace for a while. I’m sure the President will do what he can to bring that about.
Ronald Reagan said, “trust but verify,” and Theodore Roosevelt said, “speak softly but carry a big stick.” Knowing Trump’s business savvy, I sincerely doubt that he will be bamboozled by the 26 year old running North Korea, so rest easy in that regard. Trump is nobody’s fool.
I have been earnestly praying that Kim will open up North Korea to Christianity. Our President said he is working towards that, but admittedly it will take some time. It would be wonderful if a revival could come to that country.
I’m interested in seeing what the never-Trumpers will do to tear apart this historic accomplishment. Watch for it. It will be difficult to hate this kind of progress but rest assured they will attack as they always do. He will continue undeterred and
he will continue making progress in many different areas in spite of their twisted hate – Lord willing.
I loved yesterday’s Bible verse so much I decided to use it again.
Hosea 4:6
People are dying for the truth. That’s why we are here – to bring life where there is death! Today, we see the threat of death to family. We see the threat of death to morality. We see the threat of death to eternity. Wherever there is a people of God there are enemies of God. You are where you are for such a time as this because God’s people are in distress!
