In a close election it appears that Roy Moore lost his bid to become a senator last night. As expected I received some blowback on my comments yesterday regarding the election.
I was told my political beliefs clouded my reasoning on the matter; however, that is entirely inaccurate. I can only say that drawing a moral equivalency between someone like Doug Jones, who currently believes in late term abortion and Roy Moore who opposes it, but has been accused of molesting a young child 40 years ago is difficult to say the least.
Moore has never been convicted in a court of law, nor even charged with any of the crimes of which he has been accused. He has been convicted by non-jurors and perhaps rightfully so. The way I understand it one woman stepped forward and said that when she was at the tender young age of 14 and he was in his mid-thirties he partially undressed her (and himself) and touched her inappropriately through her underwear and asked her to touch him. When she asked him to stop, he stopped and took her home. The other women all of whom were of legal age said he asked them to go out with him.
Apparently, nothing has happened since those alleged incidents took place so long ago, and in the interim, he got married and had kids and grandkids, has been active in his church, and has led an exemplary career including serving as Chief Justice of Alabama’s Supreme Court.
Today lawyer Doug Jones proudly favors abortion and will do his utmost to promote it as a senator. Make no mistake he will block pro-life judges, he will vote for funding Planned Parenthood, and otherwise try to destroy preborn children.
Today Roy Moore is staunchly pro-life and would do the opposite. To me that is what it boils down to. If you disagree, that is your prerogative.
I feel sorry for victims of sexual abuse especially those who have written to me. One study shows that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before they are 18. The problem is an epidemic of biblical proportion. I was physically abused as a child, and although it wasn’t sexual in nature, it has impacted me all my adult life. I can only imagine what mental torment these sexual abuse victims live through. I’ve spoken at homes for abused girls more than once and afterwards they shared their stories of horror with me. It was heartbreaking. With tears streaming down my face I’ve watched hundreds of videos of abused children telling their stories. I made this the spotlight issue with the Jesus Alliance and formed a think tank in Washington D.C. dedicated to stopping child rape and I work on these issues almost every day. I think it is the worst evil in our society today!
Running a close second is the destruction of preborn children whose voices can never be heard. What if the 52 million aborted babies could come back from the grave and accuse Doug Jones and those with similar beliefs of killing them while they were preborn children? Would the country revolt against him? I don’t believe so, because today abortion has been deemed to be fashionable by the elite and coined, “A woman’s right to choose.” Oh really? Well what about a baby’s right to choose to live?
Hundreds, if not thousands, of women are coming out and accusing men of sexual impropriety. I’m sure most are valid, but rest assured some are not. Just imagine if someone is falsely accused of groping someone decades ago for money, or revenge for being fired, or jealousy, or whatever, and their career and life is totally destroyed? What if it was you? I’m sure that the majority of these cases are valid, but I would hate to think I had a part in destroying someone who wasn’t.
One look at what Anita Hill tried to do to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas will make that evident.
I read the other day where a woman has now come out against singer David Cassidy who died a few days ago and accused him of once groping her. Amazingly this famous and successful singer had only $150,000 left in his estate which he left to his son. Money cannot be the object of this accusation. He is dead and cannot defend himself against her allegation, nor can he apologize for groping her if indeed he did. So why is she doing this? Maybe it helps her get over the groping incident, the Lord only knows.
I don’t know about all of this; it is above my pay scale. I ask myself where does this end?
Sex, power, and money comprise Satan’s arsenal. Only the Lord returning will defeat it. Until then we will have to struggle every single day of our lives. Come quickly O Lord!
Job 14:1
“How frail is humanity! How short is life, how full of trouble!”
