As I looked through the many disturbing articles and headlines this morning the Lord reinforced the obvious; sex, power, and money are involved in nearly every dark act being reported. It is a non-issue as to which tool is the most demonic they are so closely entwined at times that they work hand and glove together.

As I do most days, (that I have time), I posted an article of someone in power sexually abusing children. It is pandemic and not a minute goes by without this sickness occurring somewhere in America. In this case a pastor and his wife, were charged with some 24 cases of sexual abuse on children under 16.

Another article was detailing how famous liberal movie producer Harvey Weinstein, one of President Obama’s most ardent fundraisers and supposed champion of women’s rights, had for decades coerced women into having sex with him using money, promises of giving them movie careers, or threats of ending them.

Then there are the many articles on wars with power hungry dictators in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Niger, Libya who will do anything to stay in power including killing their own people. They even use chemical weapons on them, and/or torture anyone they even slightly suspect of opposing them.

I suspect that the wealthy gunman who murdered and injured all those people in Vegas got off on the power he wielded right up to the minute he stuck a gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. At that precise moment his power was taken from him along with his money, and everything else he had.

Money – Sex – Power . . .  Make no mistake this is Satan’s trinity.

Many need to search their souls and honestly assess whether or not they worship Satan’s trinity or God’s: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit?

The Bible is clear that God will make everything right one day. For those of us who despise seeing those who are evil seemingly get away with it, just remember in God’s plan their little joy ride is like a vapor; it will exist but for a moment, and then be gone and forgotten.

If one were to draw a straight line on a whiteboard that is 100 million miles long to graphically represent eternity, it would not be long enough. You would have to put arrows on each end of the line to represent that it keeps on going. However, if you were to challenge someone to graphically represent humankind’s average lifespan on the line, (actuarily 79.9 years in the United States), it would be impossible, because it would be infinitesimally too small.

The Bible in Mark 8:36 states: And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? And yet almost all of humanity spends all their time seeking all the world offers beginning with money – sex – and power. It is an enigma. It is obvious that people either don’t read the Bible or don’t believe it and heed its counsel.

Life on earth is short – Eternity is forever. Consider what you will take with you when you pass away. I contend that we take only two things and neither are material. The good and the bad that we have done in this life will be all that accompanies us when we pass through the valley of the shadow of death. When almighty God, Creator of everything both seen and unseen, looks down at someone from His throne and sees a person who has faithfully followed Jesus, all He will see is the good. The bad will be completely covered with the blood of Christ and will be remembered no more. The good will be rewarded. Those without the blood of Jesus will have to account for their sins on their own. Not one will be justified.

Praise his holy name for His loving grace. It’s never too late to turn to Jesus. Do it! Do it today! While there is yet time . . .

Luke 12:19

“And I’ll sit back and say to myself, ‘My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’”

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday! Honey Lake Church has one of my best friends, legendary Jack “Murf the Surf” Murphy appearing this Sunday. He will be playing his fiddle and offering some wonderful testimony. If you can get there, you will surely be blessed!
