What’s up with North Korea? A ruthless dictator, Kim Jong-un, who recently had his own brother killed along with other members of his family, various generals, and others that he perceived as threats to staying in power now wants to launch missiles towards the most powerful nation on earth – us. He purportedly has 60 nuclear missiles, we have 6800.

Hmmm . . . He seems to be better at murdering people than math. So, the first thing I ask is, since he knows that if he starts a war with us that his regime will end and his people will be obliterated, what drives this guy?

Satan of course. Satan was a murderer and a liar from the beginning. So is Kim. He has already proven that he is a ruthless murderer and a liar and comes up with nonsensical propaganda that is not equaled anywhere on earth, (except maybe the NY Times, Washington Post, CNN, and MSNBC – No letters please –  that was a joke.)

We tend to focus on modern dictators such as Hitler, Lenin, Mao, Stalin Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, and others, but they date back to the beginning of time. There is but one way to deal with these demonically inspired tyrants that has ever worked – Kill them!

Oooooh . . . I can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth among all the Christians now. The Bible says do not kill – In fact it is one of the “Big Ten.”

Oh really – Are you sure about that?

Murder is always sinful in Scripture, but killing is condoned. For example, you wake up at night while someone is breaking in your house. You don’t know if they are packing or what they came to do, so in self-defense you shoot and kill them. This is a justifiable killing.

If someone breaks in your house in the daytime and is unarmed and either puts his hands up or runs away and you run them down and shoot ‘em in the back and kill that person, that is murder.

There are times when soldiers in war and police officers must kill, but there are those times when they kill wrongly as well and that is murder. It really depends upon the situation. If that fat little nut job Kim lobs nuclear weapons at the United States, millions of our citizens will be vaporized. Excuse me, but there is a time for everything, and sometimes there is a time to kill fat little nut jobs before they can kill us.

I think it is a question of whether its murder or killing from God’s viewpoint.

What does the Bible say?

Obviously, murder is wrong. Exodus 20:13 “You shall not murder.”

But what about defending the innocent from tyrants?

Deuteronomy 19:11-12 “But suppose someone is hostile toward a neighbor and deliberately ambushes and murders him and then flees to one of the cities of refuge. In that case, the elders of the murderer’s hometown must send agents to the city of refuge to bring him back and hand him over to the dead person’s avenger to be put to death.

The wisest man that the world will ever know, King Solomon, wrote Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. Below is an excerpt.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal . . . a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”

If we are forced to kill to avoid being killed, God has given the green light throughout Scripture to defend ourselves. He detests murder and will punish it; He detests killing too, but understands far better than us the nature of evil and what we must do to deal with it.

Christian brothers and sisters support those who protect this nation and risk their lives to save ours. No one can reason with demons. That has been tried. North Korea, Iran, and others will destroy our democracy with unbridled ambition if allowed to do so. There will be no talking them out of those ambitions.

I don’t believe that President Trump will allow it on his watch. Someone asked me the other day if we should be worried.

What good is worry? It changes nothing. This issue was decided before the world was created and so is the amount of time each of us will live on this earth. God is on the throne. Keep the faith in Him and keep on working for the kingdom until He calls you home to paradise for eternity. No nukes will be necessary in heaven and evil will not exist there.

Nice!

Matthew 10:28

“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
