So, Iran shoots an ICBM missile into space and a few hours later North Korea sent one up. It is widely believed that they can now hit mainland USA with Nukes. Then China put on a dazzling display of their military might and Russia showcased their huge navy. And let’s not forget Venezuela who gave its latest dictator unlimited authoritarian control with a mock election, while Syria and Afghanistan continue their century old culture of constant wars of insanity, while Libya is now maintaining that ISIS is relocating to that nation as its latest center for hate filled terrorism.
I’m sure I’m leaving someone out, but Xi Jinping of China, commander in chief of the world’s largest army with 600,000 troops, stated yesterday, “The World is no longer safe.”
Duh . . . you think?
Quite naturally even those who are not so involved in world affairs and instead focus on their day to day lives are becoming increasingly upset over the possibility that we may be living in the End Times. So what about it? Is the Antichrist alive and roaming the earth as we speak?
Charisma recently quoted Billy Graham’s response to this timely question. He said:
“The Bible refers to the Antichrist as an evil person of great spiritual power who will appear at the end of the present age (just before Christ returns to establish His kingdom, as He promised). The Bible says that shortly before Christ comes again, “the man of sin is revealed . . . who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God” (2 Thess. 2:3-4).
As the name “Antichrist” implies, he will be completely and utterly opposed to Christ and His people. He even will try to get people to worship him by claiming to be God, and both by his words and his actions, he will do everything he can to fight against everything God is doing in the world. Just as Satan tried to tempt Jesus and stop Him from following God’s will for His life, so Satan and his demonic forces will attempt to overpower Christ as the end of the present age draws near.
Is the Antichrist alive today? On one hand, the Bible urges us not to speculate about this or become overly anxious about it. On the other hand, however, it does warn us to be alert – because Satan and his servants are always active. The Bible says, “Even now there are many antichrists” (1 John 2:18).
The most important fact about the Antichrist, however, is that he will not win! Like his master, Satan, he is already a defeated foe – because by Christ’s death and resurrection He has gained the victory over all the forces of evil. Is your faith and hope in Him?”
Hmmm . . . The Bible states that, “Even now there are many antichrists.” That leaves zero doubt that many in the world oppose Christ and His people and all for which He stands.
Bah! So what . . . “let the heathen rage.” The end of any war, spiritual or otherwise, is all that really matters in the big scheme of things, certainly not a few battles. Though you may be weary do not be afraid or anxious. We are safely in the hand of our Lord – our God and there is no doubt that His angelic heavenly army will end the madness to this mad mad world of terrible wrath against those who have opposed Him. Put your faith and hope in Him while there is yet time. Listen to the Holy Spirit . . .
Isaiah 13:9
“They will be terrified, Pains and anguish will take hold of them; They will writhe like a woman in labor, They will look at one another in astonishment, Their faces aflame. Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it. For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it rises And the moon will not shed its light. Thus I will punish the world for its evil And the wicked for their iniquity; I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proud And abase the haughtiness of the ruthless . . . ”
