I believe that one thing that holds many people back from Christ is the simplicity of it all. It sounds too easy. It seems as if we should have to do more to be reconciled with God. The thing about it is that Christ performed the mysterious and exceedingly difficult part for us. He took our place on the cross and willingly accepted our punishment by somehow taking all of the sins of humanity upon Himself. We have to do a little more than just believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He, who had never committed one sin, died for our sins and was resurrected; even satan and all of his demonic hordes believe that. We must believe but also repent of our sins, ask Him for forgiveness, and turn from our former ways. It is still pretty simple.
Many religions have taught that there are various rituals that must be performed; some say that various incantations must be continuously chanted; others even mandated that human sacrifices must occasionally be offered, and some even currently teach that we must die and be reincarnated numerous times until we finally get it right and become Gods ourselves. Other religions come and go, but the Bible remains the same. As science exposes the many flaws inherent in these humanly devised pagan religions, it cannot do the same with the Bible. In fact science continues to verify the Bible’s truth even today.
The Bible’s plan for reconciliation is simplistic. Think about it. The Bible was written in ancient times and was simple enough for the very primitive people of that age to understand God’s plan for our lives.
Today we take trips to outer space, we have super computers and advanced technology, yet the Bible’s pure and simple message is still sufficient. The Bible transcends all time. The Bible is still the best selling book “worldwide”. God is not about to allow His Holy Word with its simple, yet powerful message to humanity, to be extinguished. Hitler and other demon controlled tyrants have never succeeded in extinguishing its simple truth.
The Bible can only help us if we open it and read it though, or at a bare minimum go to a church that bases itself upon the foundation that the Bible is the irrefutable Word of God and hear them preach its message of how to find Christ. Aside from that it isn’t rocket science. Someone who has never been to school a day in their life can understand its simple, sweet message and find salvation.
