I’ve spent the past several days with good friends of mine who have totally dedicated their lives to the Lord. They are working practically non-stop in an attempt to change the world and lead people to an understanding of God’s love, peace, and compassion. We spent days together praying, singing hymns, worshipping God, and making plans to preach the Gospel and disciple the nations.
I read the headlines this morning on several news websites and it is business as usual with hate, violence, vile disregard for all decency, and a nasty political campaign that exemplifies the harm that has happened to a country that has allowed God to be removed. The contrast between my meetings and the headlines is stark and emphasizes the serious need and urgency for us to continue working as hard as we can.
Yesterday afternoon I met with some of the leadership of the Jesus Alliance and we are hopeful that by the end of the week our new website will be up and running and we can immediately begin sending positive messages of God’s love and truth to counteract the anti-God messages of lies and hate that those who wish to make what is wrong seem right and what is right seem wrong in this country a reality.
This morning I have two more meetings with key people whose desire is to get America back on track and midweek another important meeting. The positive result of this election as we look at the candidates for the most powerful job in the world is that more and more people are beginning to realize just how sickening and serious our situation has become. I am hopeful that I’m seeing signs that a “sleeping giant” is being awakened and people all over this country will begin to stand up for Jesus Christ regardless of perceived peer pressure.
We need revival.
Will people wake up and do something about our downward spiral, or will we keep right on doing the same things that is allowing our degenerative decline?
We need to read the word of God, we need 24/7 prayer, evangelists, disciplers; we need love and compassion!These are the things of God. You can and should get involved for the sake of your children and grandchildren, if not your own. We fight a powerful foe who is intent upon destroying us; however, we serve an ALL-POWERFUL God who desires to deliver us. He can save us, but being the true gentleman that He is, He awaits us to ask Him to join us. Pray about that today won’t you? Then join the fight with reckless abandon.
