America gone and forgotten

I was watching Dr. David Jeremiah on television Sunday and he preached about a subject that I’ve wondered about quite often. Apparently I’m not the only one who wonders about it, because he mentioned his friend Joel Rosenberg, a Messianic Jew and Bible expert on end times prophecy, stating that in years past the number one question asked of him was how a Jew could convert to Christianity, but now it is what does the Bible say will happen to the United States of America during the end times.

Mr. Rosenberg’s answer is quite simple; the Bible says nothing of the United States of America. There is not one mention of it anywhere.

Hmmm . . . So what to think. Dr. Jeremiah mentioned several possibilities. First the Bible did not mention America, because it did not exist at the time of its writing and people of that day wouldn’t have had any idea of what was being written, but that is far-fetched because all of prophecy consists of things yet to come.

Another possibility is that our country will collapse because of its tremendous debt; $19 trillion and counting and $179 trillion in unfunded liabilities. That is a possibility. And then there is the possibility that the country will succumb to moral decay similar to the Roman empire and will fall from the destruction of the family unit making it a non-factor.

Another possibility that could be likely is that we will be attacked and destroyed by war. While no one thought that possible just a few years ago, after 9/11 that all changed. Now every two-bit dictator in the world is getting their hands on a nuclear weapon and aiming it at the U.S. not to mention superpowers like Russia and China. Another possibility if the open borders policy is instituted that is so popular within the Democratic party, we could fall from enemies within who would start a war similar to those in the Middle East.

Again that is plausible, but his last scenario, which is Dr. Jeremiah’s favorite and mine too, is the possibility that the Rapture would occur and so many Christians would be removed from the United States in a moment that it could no longer function. Statistics indicate that 70% of our citizens are Christians, while that number seems exaggerated for sure, even if 50% were raptured it would create pure havoc. Just imagine if all Christians were gone and the Holy Spirit left with them.

The Lord did not even mention the United States of America in His Holy Bible, why not? Remember no nation in all of history has been blessed or prospered more since the beginning of time as we know it, and yet we are left to guesswork as to what it will be during the end times.

We do know that our founders were all Godly men and initially founded our country as one nation under God. Sadly, the Progressives with Hillary Clinton at the helm are poised to undo their magnificent work.by paralyzing religious freedom and enhancing religious persecution of those who dare to oppose their evil agenda. Will that precipitate its fall?

A friend wrote to me yesterday and said this concerning the election which now appears, barring some miracle, to be going to Hillary Clinton: “I find Trump truly odious. However, I know that the Clintons have criminal intent, malice aforethought, and premeditated murder of the constitution in mind and it will be methodical, and as painless as consciously possible as the poison seeps into the already sedated patient, until it is too late for the body politic to be revived.

The Clintons are the ultimate postmodern utilitarian’s. They are simply more silver-tongued and sophisticated than boorish Trump who, in spite of his hideous character, will still likely appoint better people to high office, the cabinet, and the Supreme Court, than the Clintons who will ensure a calculated cronyism of the worst kind, and contempt for the constitution resulting in a more devastating legacy.

I wish it were all otherwise – this is a grotesque example of exactly what a Syrian friend in the Middle East said earlier. “We have earned and deserve these candidates” because it truly reflects the condition of our collective national soul.”

The good news is that God is in control and regardless of whether or not America isn’t going to be significant, or even a factor, as we jet towards those final days. All we can do is continue to pray that He will delay His final judgment on this land and keep asking God to prepare the hearts, souls, and spirits of so many in our divided country to turn to Him before it is too late for them to receive Christ.

Until then, the faithful are to keep working in preaching the Gospel and discipling the nations. One day His glorious appearance will sweep us away and all of the world will be devoid of the light and goodness of the Holy Spirit and those of us who love the Lord. I truly feel sorry for those who will miss joining Christ at His return. Don’t be among that crowd, accept Him as your Savior today.

Matthew 24:29-31:29

“Immediately after the distress of those days ” ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
