Just in this past week two “former” friends and I reconciled our differences. It was a good feeling, because in both situations our divisions had run deep and there were plenty of hard feelings to go around. We are all three strong believers in Jesus Christ and it made it doubly bad that we acted in such a manner. We knew better.

Then just yesterday I had a dispute with another VERY good friend and it took an ugly twist in spite of our friendship. I tried not to allow the day to end without resolving it, but sadly things did not get settled. I tried calling, texting, and e-mailing, to try to get them back on the phone whereby we could talk through our differences and settle it, but it was all to no avail

Ugh!

Life is too short! This ordeal reminds me of this little note that someone sent me the other day and it is said to have been found in the billfold of legendary University of Alabama football coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, after he died in 1982

The Magic Bank Account

Imagine that you had won the Following *PRIZE* in a contest:

Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 in your bank account for you to use any way you saw fit; however, this prize came with conditions:

  1. Everything that you didn’t spend during each day would be taken away from you.
  2. You could not simply transfer money into some other account and you could only spend It.
  3. Each morning when the bank opened, your account would have another $86,400 available for that day.
  4. The bank could end the game without warning, and at any time, by simply saying, “Game Over!” and close the account and you would not receive a new one.

What would you personally Do?

You would probably buy anything and everything you ever wanted, right? Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for. Even for people you don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself.

You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew you would lose it otherwise, and besides it would be replenished in the morning,

Actually, this game is real and each of us is already a winner of this *PRIZE*.

We just don’t seem to notice it.

The PRIZE is *TIME*

  1. Each morning we awaken to Receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life from God.
  2. And when we go to sleep at night, any time wasted during the day is not credited to us for use at a later time. If we don’t use it, we lose it.
  3. Each morning the account is refilled, but your account can be dissolved at any time WITHOUT WARNING . . .

So, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars. Think about it and remember to enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than we think.

So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply, and enjoy life!

So when we look at our precious time in that manner, it seems rather ridiculous to fuss and fight; especially between two friends, but really for anyone. One key is to just hold your tongue which is an unruly beast according to the Bible. I suppose pride makes it flap in the wind, and once the storm brews, the wind seems to blow really hard in order to keep it flapping back and forth – back and forth.

Psalm 4:4

Tremble, and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
