Today I speak to a significant number of people in Cleveland Ohio for the Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC) Prayer Breakfast and then later hundreds more at a luncheon hosted by them in nearby Akron. I got up early this morning to pray an earnest appeal to God for those who will attend that need to receive Christ or draw closer to Him.

I asked God to send the Holy Spirit ahead of time and prepare the hearts and souls of those who will hear me speak. I also asked HIM to speak through me whereby it would be HIS words rather than mine that would cut to their inner depths and draw them to Jesus and work miracles in their lives.

I believe that God will answer those requests and a great harvest will occur. Last night I went to a dinner with the organizers of the event and they told me of the months of preparation that had taken place. Many have worked with CBMC for decades. We discussed the event from every angle and I can assure you it is as organized as they can make it. They told me they had been praying for the event and me literally for months.

I was reminded this morning of God’s promise to us in my life’s verse Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. It does not state that just because I am a believer that God will bless my efforts, (even when I have good intentions).

God works through people. It states: I CAN DO. This means we have to do our parts; God is not going to do everything while we sit back and relax. I’ve seen prayer warriors who claim that all is needed is to pray and God will handle whatever it is that we pray for in His timing.

I tell them to PRAY WHILE THEY ARE WALKING. In other words I agree that prayer is essential; however prayer needs to be followed by action and hard work. God wants us to WORK alongside Him for His harvest. He has prepared vast fields of human souls that are ripe for harvest and the harvest needs to occur, but it requires people who are willing to work. Jesus said in Matt. 9:37 “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.

Few in numbers or not we joyfully go to work to obey God. Matthew 28:19 God said: Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

So the good folks at CBMC in Cleveland have joyfully come forward to work the fields together. They have worked hard these last few months to prepare for the harvest and have planned every detail including even after today teams of follow-up crews to help those who will be drawn by the Holy Spirit to solidify their walk with Jesus.

Now it is in the Father’s precious hands and we rely on His promise that all things can be accomplished through His Son Jesus Christ who strengthens us. I have total confidence that He will honor His word and show up today and sweep through the auditorium saving and healing the lives of so many people.

Thus we are partnered with the King of all Kings. What an honor to serve Him. Don’t YOU want to be a part of God’s harvest team? You can do it. Just pray and follow with action.

Jesus took the lead. Don’t you want to follow His lead? Then commit to the following prayer: Father I am committed to follow the lead of Jesus. What does that mission look like?

John 6:29

For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me.
