I’d never really fully realized what a daunting task it is to get people motivated to be obedient and follow Jesus until I founded the Jesus Alliance. Our leadership strategizes on how to motivate people to break out of their daily routine and do something important for Jesus, but we seem to barely move the needle.
I have concluded that I do not have the ability to motivate those within my sphere of influence to rise up. I along with the other leaders try our utmost, but alas it seems to fall on deaf ears. I’ve about decided that if folks are to rise up God will have to put a calling on their heart that cannot be ignored as He has done with me.
It seems logic has been completely lost on so many. We are being bombarded with approximately one billion anti-God messages annually via social media, schools, arts and entertainment, media, government, and even churches. It is a well-funded program of collaborating forces that utilize such groups as Moveon.org, Media Matters, Planned Parenthood, Freedom from Religion, the ACLU, Gay Pride, and thousands of other organizations to accomplish their goals. It is well funded in the billions.
So we try to counter their attack by sending out pro-God messages like the Hope video https://vimeo.com/145255721 that was just sent to our entire mailing list. We asked folks including you to take some time and send it to others within your networks, but few took the time to do it. We ask for donations so we can send out more, but only a very few donated. We asked folks to pray and post Scripture on their sites, but few have done it.
And we wonder why we are losing the war?
It would be easy to get discouraged, but methinks it is not my problem. I’m just a slave to Jesus; He is the Master. I’m content to work hard and do as much as I can, and trust Him to handle it. I wish I knew how to have a greater impact, because I see so many lost souls worldwide, billions of people, on a death march to total separation from God for eternity.
If only I had the words to help them somehow. Sigh . . .
Hmmm . . . I think my words might be better spent directed above: O God I pray for the ability for our team to speak clearly and effectively to those who need Your loving grace. I pray for those who are too busy with other things to spend time working for You; that You will move upon their spirits and motivate them to act. I pray that they will realize that You should be their highest priority each and every day. Lord I pray for our once great country, that she will be restored and that people will renew their love for You and will surrender and be obedient to Your call. I pray that You will delay judgment and that Your Holy Spirit will awaken the masses and institute a revival of epic proportions. I pray that you will wake up America and once again shine Your light on her before it is too late! Thank You Jesus; I love you with all my heart. Amen . . .
