At midnight last night I arrived in Jacksonville Florida to meet my wife for more tests at Mayo clinic today. I arrived from Oklahoma City where I spoke numerous times. The highlight was the Oklahoma City Mayor’s Prayer breakfast with about 1800 in attendance. The mayor, Mick Cornett was there as was the Governor Mary Fallin, (one of the nicest most gracious people I’ve ever met). We had a great harvest there as well as at other speaking locations including a city wide Hispanic event that night where they used a translator to interpret as I spoke. It seemed that the Holy Spirit was intent upon using me every minute including the first night I was there. I was eating in a restaurant with the main facilitator for my trip and he wanted me to sign a couple of books for his wife and himself. A restaurant worker walked by and when she noticed my book she exclaimed that she had that book and it was an awesome read.

The man I was with told her that I was the guy that had lived it and written it and she said she wished that she had brought hers in order to get it signed. She asked if I would sign a piece of paper that she could put with it and I told her sure no problem. Then she started welling up in tears and telling us that her life was a mess. I spoke with her a few minutes and quickly ascertained she was not sure of her salvation. I asked if she would like to pray with me to accept Jesus, she did and right there in the restaurant she got down on her knees and prayed to accept Christ. My buddy is going to try to get her in a good church that can help her.

The bell captain was walking by and happened to notice us talking to her and came over and looked at the book before going back to his post. We were late for my next speaking engagement that night so my friend went to get the car. As I stood at the door awaiting for him the bell captain came over and we began discussing what the book was about. I asked if he had a relationship with Christ. He nervously shook his head no. I explained that Christ loved us and as my friend impatiently sat in the car I hastily led him to Christ.

I’ve been flat on my back for 9 weeks with my surgery and I went back to work a week ago. This was my first trip and it was grueling but man o man it was rewarding. The folks that arranged it laughingly told me that they had prayed fervently for me to be able to come and then when I got there got me up at 5 a.m. and worked me far into the night without a moment to spare.

It was a blast though and it was good to get back in action. I did get to see Steve Green and tour massive Hobby Lobby and the impressive Green family Bible collection as well as meet with my friend archbishop Robert Wise.

It is great to be back. I look forward to getting my wife healthy again and resuming our lives. It is like leaving the darkness and entering God’s light.

Isaiah 9:2

The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.
