Yesterday I met with a technology guru extraordinaire in Nashville Tennessee. I was steered to him by a new friend I met in Washington D.C. earlier this week. His specialty is reaching people through social media.
He described the power of the huge amount of data available and in effect it details everything about you (and me, and practically every other human being on the planet). The information that is readily available includes the books you bought through Amazon, the websites you’ve visited, any memberships in clubs or groups, those online chats that you’ve had, merchandise you’ve bought online, and on and on.
In elections they analyze the data down to the county level and can determine by its composition as to whether or not it would be better to run a female or male, black, white, or brown, address millennial issues or old goat concerns like mine, and so forth. They plan their election strategy based on the composition of the people in every county that is important to their effort.
In effect the data that defines each of us is readily available for sale on the open market to anyone who has the bucks to buy it, and if you think the NSA is the only one watching then think again. Political machines aren’t the only ones that utilize it; in fact the primary utilizers are retailers. That constant barrage of great products that show up on your e-mail and social media pages that somehow seem to be accidentally suited to your personality are all served up by a mastermind without a name. He has no name because he is actually an entire series of powerful computers housed in gigantic server farms all over the world.
The purpose of my meeting with this guy was to understand how I can unite 100 million Christians utilizing technology similar to that described. I want to know who the Christians are and the best way to reach them. Once I can identify them I intend to ask them to join our Christian movement to Renew America.
He was intrigued with my project because he is a born again Christian himself. Further he has five kids and he doesn’t want them to grow up in a Godless Socialist country where anything goes.
So with his help I will soon become a part of the privacy problem too.
Hey, if bad guys like the Progressives can do it, so can the good guys. The Bible is very clear that we are not to be led like sheep to the slaughter, (although many Christians seem determined to go quietly). I would rather go out roaring and fighting like an enraged lion and fiercely waging war to the very end than meekly accept my fate like a silent little lamb. . .
Jesus addressed this situation and acknowledged that the world is a dangerous place for those who love him. Matt. 10:16 – “Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.
He used an analogy that has the following meaning to me: Sheep – Disciples of Christ; Wolves – George Soros style progressives & liberal Democrats led by the Obama administration; Snakes – The Godless antichristian element who think that what is wrong is right, and what is right is wrong; Doves – Born again believers led by the Holy Spirit in love.
There is no doubt that the Godless element of our world is shrewd. They work smart, have a strategic plan to destroy our society as we know it, and they use technology to pull it off. Personally I think there are plenty of smart Christians out there who can develop a strategic plan and use state of the art technology every bit as well as these infidels, so I say let’s get it on . . .
Luke 10:3
Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.
