The last of the Renewal of America Founder’s Forum attendees left yesterday afternoon and remarkably the very moment that they left, the rains that had poured down during the entire conference stopped and the gorgeous sun came out.
I wanted it to be sunny and beautiful during the forum so folks could enjoy the beauty of Honey Lake; however I didn’t get “bent out of shape” to see the rain. Actually rain symbolizes blessings in the Bible, (I Kings 1:8 speaks of a great rain which finally came after 3-1/2 years of drought).
I took the incessant rain during our event to be a sign that our Renewal movement will be greatly blessed; (and if this first meeting was any indication of what is to come, the blessings of God have already begun to “rain” down upon us in torrents).
Spiritually, there was a drought of truth during the Dark Ages, followed by a wonderful rain of refreshment from God’s Word. Bible societies sprang up, education became accessible to many, and the common man could read the Words of Life.
Could it be that the Dark Age of America will experience the same?
I think so . . .
Rainbows almost always follow the rain, and nothing is as beautiful to me as a large one appearing over Honey Lake. It majestically appears high above the shimmering moisture and mist that seems to always be suspended over the gorgeous lake after a rain. What could be more hopeful than the realization that the sun will come out after it stops? It symbolizes the hope of Jesus Christ to a lost world to me.
Yes America is dark at the moment, but just imagine that a light of hope will be beamed throughout her entirety; (the joy of the Gospel, the Good News of salvation, and God’s planned Kingdom of Righteousness sweeping across our land like a raging wildfire).
When the rains finally stop, the sunshine that follows warms and cheers us. The sun’s rays have the power to heal. When we examine the Bible, we find that rain also became a symbol for the divine outpouring of the Holy Spirit; both rain and the Holy Spirit were sent by God as a demonstration of His concern for life.
Isa. 44:3. – “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants”
Now check out Joel 2:28 which is given to us right after announcing the coming of the early and latter rains, God said, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions . . . But everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved,”
Early rains?
This all sounds rosy and I’m feeling warm and fuzzy about this sign of blessing from God, but a thought entered my mind that rain also symbolizes judgment in the Bible.
Latter rains?
Think Noah! Think about the rain not stopping for 40 days and nights. Think about the destruction of mankind when they stubbornly refused to repent.
As Paul Harvey states: “And for the rest of the story” But everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved, AND THEN THE END WILL COME.”
Folks we need this movement of unification of all believers to succeed in order to reach as many people as possible before the end comes. We need a great awakening and a revival. People need to find Christ before it’s too late and the rains of judgment sweep them away. What are YOU doing to witness to the lost in these last perilous days?
The people of Noah’s days didn’t listen to him, (some accounts report that he preached 120 years without a single convert). They were too busy partying and enjoying the lusts of this world to pay much attention to that crazy old “Bible thumper”. Then one day the door to their salvation was finally shut and the rain of judgment began to pour down on them and then they were no more. Selah . . .
Join our movement and pray for this nation . . .
Isaiah 34:4
So their slain will be thrown out, And their corpses will give off their stench, And the mountains will be drenched with their blood. And all the host of heaven will wear away, And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All their hosts will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, Or as one withers from the fig tree. And when my sword has finished its work in the heavens, it will fall upon Edom, the nation I have marked for destruction. Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom And upon the people whom I have devoted to destruction . . .
