2014

I started doing morning devotionals years ago. It just seemed to help when I would seclude myself in a quiet place first thing in the morning and pray and listen to the Lord and read His word and use it to help me work out any problems that I might have. This invariably put me in a better mood and assisted with starting my day in a positive manner. I might not stay there long dependent upon the pressures of being a CEO of a large entity, but at least I started out in a good mood. Eventually I started sharing them with others via Words for the Day and fifteen years later I’m still sharing them.

Occasionally I drift and WFTD becomes somewhat dark. This is not deliberate on my part; rather reflects that I am weak. Today I wanted to get back to putting a smile on everyone’s face. As noted at least if we all start out with a smile we might have a better chance of ending up with one, once our day has progressed to its successful conclusion late this afternoon.

I receive all kinds of e-mails and the one below put a smile on my face. I hope it does likewise for you. It is entitled: “Thank God for little old ladies with typewriters.” These sentences appeared in church bulletins or were announced in church services.
