Doves are migratory birds and they migrate when weather conditions north of Honey Lake deteriorate. We have a supply of year round birds that we call local birds, but there aren’t enough of them to conduct a good hunt. That all changes when it gets cold up north and 1000 might show up on any given day. Now that is when you want to conduct a hunt.

I have some new managers running our dove hunts and of course told them all of this and emphasized the importance of going to the various dove fields ahead of every hunt to ensure that doves are in abundance. I noticed that one of them didn’t act like he was listening so I reiterated it for him several more times explaining the reasoning behind it.

A couple of weeks passed by and the next thing I know I’m getting a call from a frustrated dove club member who complained about a hunt we conducted with just a very few birds present.

I checked with my managers and as I feared they skipped the all-important detail of checking the field before the hunt and the result was bad. Sigh . . . I hate it when that happens. It’s like seeing a railroad trestle that has been washed out on down the line and calling the railroad company and warning them and then watching them ignore the warning and right on schedule a speeding train comes around the bend and ends up crashing into the ravine and raging river below.

It all could have been avoided if only someone had listened.

I took a lot of heat for writing about President Obama not having a moral compass or experience at much of anything aside from making some flowery speeches and organizing labor unions when he initially ran for office the first and second time and many unsubscribed because of it. Many said that politics has no place in a discipleship devotion and tenaciously clung to the verses in Romans that instruct us to obey our leaders.

For the record I’ve never encouraged civil disobedience. I do think that Christians should however be involved in the political process and try their utmost to elect leaders who are honest and have integrity and love the Lord. I like the verse in Acts 5:29 that states, But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

So my question to my detractors is if someone does not obey God, why would any sane Christian want to elect them as a leader?

Time has proven me right. Obama is a disaster. He has done more to attack Christianity than all other presidents combined and he has no integrity. Even the liberal mainstream media is hammering him daily now for the lies he is telling about ObamaCare, Benghazi, the IRS going after his political opponents, selling guns to the Mexican drug cartels, and the NSA domestic spy program. They run a clip of him saying one thing and then doing the opposite on every channel most every night.

Our congress is gridlocked, the national debt is incomprehensible and the economy is in decline; our military is demoralized and a mere remnant of what it was when he took office; racism has been revived as has class warfare; laws that he does not like are not being enforced; allies such as Israel and Saudi Arabia have lost all faith in the United States, and Iran will likely have a nuclear bomb if not already.

The train has run into the ravine and is sinking into the raging river and it will take years to repair this country and restore it to its former state, (if indeed it can or ever will be repaired). As with the failed dove hunt I take no pleasure in saying “I told you so!” Most of the folks that disliked my writings about this man unsubscribed long ago and probably still support him – It makes little difference now, the damage has been done.

I’m sick and broken hearted about it.

I recently read a book about Dietrich Bonhoeffer and he wrote about how the German Lutheran church supported Hitler. It was right after WWI and the Germans had their national pride damaged due to losing that war and were suffering a depression/recession because of it. They supported Hitler because he told them what they wanted to hear about restoring German pride and their failed economy.

Soon German nationalism swept the land like a raging fire. Hitler despised the Jews and he fanned the flames against them as being responsible for being rich while everyone else suffered economically, (class warfare – sound familiar). Anti-Semitism began to sweep the land. The church got on board with it. They changed the name of the church to the Reich Church and even went as far as to declare the Old Testament to be invalid. Upon his orders they began rounding up Jews and other undesirables and began exterminating them and the holocaust began. Former Christians were exterminating an entire race of people as though it was the acceptable thing to do.

Huh?

Where was God in their lives?

So could it happen here?

Hmmm . . . Gay marriage, abortion on demand, pornography as free speech, illegal drugs being legalized, and Israel being abandoned and left alone to deal with Iran who has publicly vowed to destroy their country with a nuclear bomb are all happening
right now.

They are contrary to the Bible, but being approved by many so called churches that want to make their congregations feel good about their sin. Some of it is really getting outrageous. Consider that for some time now, feminist theologians and a host of others have suggested that Christians should adopt new names for God. One denomination went so far as to affirm names like “Giver, Gift and Giving” in place of “Father, Son and Holy Spirit” to be used in worship to avoid any preference to men.

So if you don’t like the Bible as it was written just take out the parts one doesn’t like and replace it with whatever you do like. Dr. David Jeremiah spoke the other night of a CNN television host who demanded to know when the Christians were going to get on board and upgrade the Bible and bring it up to modern times.

I suppose he hasn’t heard that God said the Bible will remain the same forever. And it is clear what will happen to those who attempt to change it, Rev. 22:19 – I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them,
God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus . . .

Interestingly history repeats itself, the ancient Ammonite God Moloch or Molech was worshipped by the Canaanites and Phoenicians. Indeed they sacrificed their children to this God and conducted orgies with homosexuals and prostitutes in their temples.

Google them – These folks aren’t around anymore, God saw to that.

So, will abortion, homosexuality, feminist priests, and other sins destroy our civilization as it did with the Phoenicians and Canaanites? I hope not, but if we don’t change our ways, probably.

The Germans are still around but Hitler and the Reich church are no longer in existence. Perhaps we could have a Renewal of Faith in America and repent. God has promised that if we do so He will remember our sins no more and heal our land. Just maybe enough people will see the light of God trying to shine on our land and vote for people who have a moral compass and stand up for God . . .  We will be conducting our event at Honey Lake March 17-18 to try and do what we can to accomplish just that. Please pray for it.

Eventually the end will come to this world as we know it. The antichrist will rule and many will be lost. As I look around the world and see all that is transpiring I feel like we are at the Alamo and preparing for that final stand.

Eventually the beast will prevail as predicted in Rev, 13:8 And all the people who belong to this world worshiped the beast. They are the ones whose names were not written in the Book of Life before the world was made – the Book that belongs to the Lamb who was slaughtered.

We need to fight the good battle, but know that all ends well . . . eventually . . .

Rev, 21:4

And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” And He who sits on the throne said,
“Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words
are faithful and true.” . . .
