It ain’t in the massage

Some people think that if they only had money then all of their problems would be gone. I know lots of wealthy people and many are among the most miserable people that I know. Neither money, power, nor fame can by themselves bring peace and joy to your heart.

Consider Al Gore. He made something like $100 million on his global warming con alone, and that doesn’t include the old money that he’d already inherited, or other monies he’s amassed. He of course is famous all over the world and very nearly won the presidency.

Now after being married forty years he is separated and has been accused of sexually assaulting a massage therapist in a hotel.

Does anyone reasonably think that this guy is happy and knows peace?

No my friends. Money in itself does not bring happiness, nor does power or fame. Nothing brings happiness and peace aside from having a close personal relationship with God. God’s word encourages us to trust in him and pursue the peace that Jesus died to give us. Put your trust in Jesus Christ and not in the world

Isa 53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
