A preoccupation with the body and the satisfaction of its desires; human or worldly as opposed to spiritual; lustful; temporal.
What am I describing?
I just defined being carnally minded. The Bible states that to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
What is being spiritually minded?
Romans 12:15-18 states:
“Rejoice with rejoicing ones, and weep with weeping ones; minding the same thing toward one another, not minding high things, but yielding to the lowly. Do not be wise within yourselves. Repay no one evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as far as is in you, being in peace with all men.”
Paul said, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh” (Galations 5:16).
In other words, carnality will disappear.
The Spirit of Christ frees us from carnality. Walk in His Spirit today won’t you?
Romans 8:1-8
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. But the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh; so that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For they who are according to the flesh mind the things of flesh, but they who are according to the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can it be. So then they who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
