Seeing is not believing

For Christians seeing is not believing because the unseen is what we believe. The seen is perishing but the unseen is being renewed. Does this sound like one of Yogi Berra’s words of confusion/wisdom?

Spiritual people believe in the spiritual world. The Bible tells us that God is Spirit and we must worship Him in that manner. God mainifested Himself in the flesh through Jesus, but aside from that God remains unseen. I once heard it said that you could not see God but just like the tide in the ocean during a full moon, one can certainly “feel the pull”.

I have never heard God utter a single word; however I definitely feel His presence and feel His influence through my thought process and particularly my conscience. The closer my walk with the Lord, the more I feel Him at my side; He is there always. The Bible tells us that if we draw close to Him He will in turn draw close to us. God has great compassion for us and wants to care for us. He waits for us to invite Him into our hearts and lives.

One day we will leave this world and enter the spiritual world. Strange as it may seem, what we see and can touch now is going to disappear forever and the spiritual world which we cannot see will endure for all time. All that we see is temporary and will be utterly destroyed one day.

Jesus stated that blessed are those of us who believe in Him without seeing Him in the flesh. Faith like that comes from prayer, Bible study and fellowship with other Christians. If you do not have it, then work harder on your prayer life, your Bible study, and your fellowship with other Christians. Draw close to God and He has promised that He will draw close to us. Remember that things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen live on forever.
