I heard two guys arguing about Obama’s persistence in returning the United States to a welfare state. One was a Libertarian and wanted no government interference for practically anything and the other while unsympathetic to Obama and his giveaway programs was arguing for some welfare and government programs for various purpose.
The argument went back and forth and the Libertarian said that if people are too lazy to work they should starve. I had to interject and mention that the Bible tells us that if someone will not work he should not eat. The one on the more liberal side said the Bible was just a book written by old men four thousand years ago and had no bearing today.
What an insult to God and all of Christianity. The Christian faith bases its belief system upon the Bible. If it is not relevant today, then what is relevant? Imagine an all powerful God not being capable of ensuring that his word, the Holy Bible, is inaccurate and not influenced by the whims of old men four thousand years ago. He would not be much of a God if He could not even have His servants write His communiqu with us in an accurate format and have it withstand the test of time.
Much is written in the Bible about its accuracy and about how it will stand forever. The Bible explicitly tells us that men and the world may change, but the word of God will stand forever. Politics and men change, but god does not. What was relevant with God four thousand years ago is still relvant with God. God’s word existed before the world was even created and is still today the living, breathing, word of our holy God.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living
and powerful and sharper than any
two edged sword, piercing even to
the division of soul and spirit and
of joints and marrow and is a discerner
of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Bible is alive and well – Not dead
