In these days of insecurity and uncertainty, there is much concern as to where to invest. Indeed most people have sadly watched their investment portfolios dwindle to a sickening level. The stock market is volatile, as is real estate. It seems that there is just no safe investment that will give us a good secure return on our money.

Not so, say I. There are good investments right now that will bring an enormous return on our money and they are totally without risk! Invest your money with the Lord. Give to the poor, help someone out who is in need, tithe, and contribute to charities. It has been wisely said that one cannot out-give the Lord. It is true.

So why don’t more Christians make this investment? It is hard to say.
Perhaps some do not believe the Bible concerning this subject. I do not understand how someone can believe part of the Bible, but not all. God inspired every single word of it and all of it is true, not just the parts we like to hear, like forgiveness for example. When it comes to their money some people stubbornly hold on tightly in spite of almighty God. Face it, some are just plain greedy.

We obviously cannot take anything with us, but we can build up treasures in heaven according to the Bible. Jesus said that when we help someone who is poor, sick or otherwise in need, we are in actuality helping Him.
Think about this subject as we enter this Christmas season. Why not share some of what God has given you. Spread it around a little. There is no problem finding worthy causes, I can assure you of that. Your heart will be blessed and you will be investing in your eternal future.
If you hang on too tightly, you may be headed for “sorrows”. In reality God doesn’t need our money. He already owns “everything”. He is giving us an opportunity to invest in the deal of a billion lifetimes, indeed in our own eternal futures.

1 Tim. 6:7
For we brought nothing into this
world, and it is certain we can
carry nothing out.
And having food and clothing,
with these we shall be content.
But those who desire to be rich
fall into temptation and a snare, and
into many foolish and harmful lusts
which drown men in destruction and
perdition.
For the love of money is a root
of all kinds of evil, for which some
have strayed from the faith in their
greediness and pierced themselves
with many sorrows.
