I wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. This time of year we should not just concentrate on turkey, dressing, pumpkin pie and football, but take some time to thank almighty God for what He has done for us. Just living in a great country like the USA is something for which to be really thankful. God has blessed our great nation mightily and I think it is because we founded our nation, “one nation under God”
and then have acknowledged Him throughout our history. Our lawmakers throughout our history have tried to establish laws that are moral and just and a model for the rest of the world. The early settlers were thankful to God and they took time to celebrate their blessings as should we.
Please join me in praying for those soldiers and defenders of our country who are in harm’s way and are keeping our great country safe for future generations. Freedom comes at a great price and is paid for with blood. Our soldiers pay that price and they deserve our thanks and prayers. The same holds true for Jesus Christ as He paid the greatest price with His royal and precious blood for our freedom. He deserves our thanks and our love.
Our Thanksgiving holiday should begin with a hearty prayer. I have said mine today; have you? (Don’t forget to say it again before you dig in to all of that food and then again when you try to shed those extra pounds after the holidays either. 🙂
Psalms 100:4
Enter into His gates with
thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise,
Be thankful to Him,
And bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all
generations.
