I have been summoned to jury duty for two weeks. Every night I have to call in and see if I must go down to the courthouse to possibly serve on a jury. It is not enjoyable and I wish they would lose my name whereby I do not have to serve. I have been incessantly whining and griping about it since I received my summons; however, I am certain that those who are being tried find it far less enjoyable than me. I have been called to federal jury duty and some serious crimes go to trial there. Wouldn’t you hate to be on trial for your life? One day we will sit before a judge and our eternal’ lives will be on the line. How fearsome will it be? Here is what it says in Revelation chapter 20 beginning in verse 11:

“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades were cast into the Lake of fire. This is the second death.

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

I have read this and other Scripture describing this event and all I can say is that I am glad Jesus Christ will be right there with me as my advocate. I would not want to face our fearsome God described in this passage alone, and I want no part of a lake that burns with fire and brimstone, (sulfur) forever.

I advise you to read Rev. Chapters 20-22 in detail as it goes on to describe heaven. Heaven is described as a place where God will always be with His people. It will be void of sorrow, death, pain, and other exigencies of life. It will be immaculately pristine and beautiful, free from sin and defilement. There will be a crystal clear river of water of life proceeding from the throne of Jesus Christ of which we will be allowed to drink from its fountain. A tree of life bearing fruit each month will yield its leaves to help heal the nations. There will be no sun nor will there be night. How so? There will be no need for a sun as God will give us light. (22:5). “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away.” “And there shall be no more curse.”

“He who overcomes shall inherit all things and I will be his God and he shall be my Son. But the cowardly unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone which is the second death.”

Jesus Christ took our punishment for our sins in order that we can become His sons and daughters and thus become royal heirs to the kingdom that He has prepared for those of us who love Him and it will be ours to enjoy forever. This is a no-brainer. If you have not accepted Christ then do so today while there is still time

Rev. 22:12
And behold I am coming
Quickly, and My reward is with Me,
To give to everyone according to
his work.
I am the Alpha and the Omega,
The Beginning and the End, the
First and the Last.
