I was talking with a friend the other day when he brought up the Iran conflict. He stated that he was beginning to get worried that we might have an all out war and nukes may have to be involved. His comment was that an attack on Iran would likely start a world war in which Christians and Jews would fight against the Arabs on a worldwide basis.

My buddy is not a Christian unfortunately, but I am always trying to steer him that way. I mentioned that such a war was mentioned in the Bible. He immediately gave me a lecture on the seer Nostradomus and how he had said something similar in some of his writings. I get this kind of thing all of the time from several non-believers.

I have read enough about Nostradamus to know that much of what he wrote about did not happen or did not happen as he forecast it. Believing in these writings is like trying to believe someone who has lied to me. I always question whether or not what they are telling me this time’ is true or not. The Bible on the other hand has never been proven wrong. In fact every new archaeological find furthers strengthens it. The Bible was written in ancient times and recorded by a whole series of different men. When compared to other documents written in this same time by other religious writers it reveals that those writers recorded in their holy books a raft of superstitions common to the day and talk of people living on the moon, various fire breathing monsters, and things that science has disproved as being ridiculous. Not so with the Bible. It is as accurate as if it had been written today when we have super computers and are contemplating sending people to Mars. Indeed many an atheist that set out to disprove the accuracy of the Bible has come away convinced that it is indeed the living word of God almighty.

If any part of the Bible was proven wrong then it would be impossible to believe the rest of it because it would mean that God’s holy word was not so holy and that God was not all powerful. We can rest easy though and know with confidence that God will never allow His word to be disproved. God is sinless and cannot lie and the Bible is His written means of communication to a fallen world. In it are detailed instructions on what we must do to once again walk in God’s holy presence. Read the Bible with confidence. Study it with vigor. If you want to know what is going to happen to this world, what will happen to you personally after you die, or a million other things it is right there in the Bible waiting for you.

All you have to do is pick it up and start reading.

Psalm 14:1
Only fools say in their hearts,
“There is no God”.
