I have had an ear infection for four weeks. It has now reached a point of intense pain and I hardly slept a wink last night. I have never had such a lingering malady that just would not go away. I have taken two different antibiotics and enough ear drops to fill my entire head, all to no avail. My ear hurts just to touch the outside and if I try to touch the inner part it is excruciating. I have lost eleven pounds in the past four weeks due to a complete loss of appetite because of this problem.
I told my wife that I have never looked forward as much to going to the doctor before in my life as I do today when I visit an eye-ear-nose specialist. I need some relief and supposedly this expert’ is the guy to give it to me- TODAY! This entire experience has made me appreciate my otherwise and ordinarily good health. I’m not sick much and usually I get well fast. That is a real blessing.
As I tossed and turned last night with an aching ear and # 10 headache, I thought of heaven and how there will never be even a sniffle in that wonderful place. I thought about the fact that God did not create us to suffer, but rather to enjoy fellowship with Him and to enjoy His creation. Suffering came along with the advent of sin just like a worm entering a ripe peach. It did not take long for it to ruin everything. Many people blame God when they suffer, but I know that it sprang from satan and our own foolish pride. God warned us that the day we sinned we would surely die and He cannot and did not lie.
I’m really glad that He provided a way to escape death and suffering throughout eternity through His Son Jesus Christ. If you need some relief from this old world, God’s office is always open and there is no wait for an appointment. He will heal you and make things perfect once again. He gives abundant and unblemished life. Without Him is suffering and death. The choice is ours. I’m going with Christ!
2 Cor. 15
For we are to God the fragrance
of Christ among those who are
being saved and among those who are
perishing.
To the one we are the aroma of
death leading to death, and to the
other the aroma of life leading to life.
Not so perfect anymore
