Do not fan the flames

I was reading the qualifications of a deacon the other day and right there spelled out in black and white was a stipulation that a deacon’s wife cannot be a gossiping woman. Hmmmm…



Gossip is destructive and accomplishes nothing good. It causes pain to those who are its subject and eventually to those who participate. It is sin and sin has consequence. The next time you hear some juicy gossip, let it end with you. I try not to associate with those who engage in it.
My experience with those who participate in it is that they do not discriminate against their victims; as in the next victim just might be me! I would not want anyone doing this behind my back and we need to think about it in that light. Treat everyone the way that we would want to be treated.



Proverbs 26:20

Where there is no wood,

The fire goes out;

And where there is no

talebearer, strife ceases.
