If I had to choose one thing that I treasure more than anything else that I have on this earth, what do you suppose it would be? My wife might say my boat and fishing tackle, others my home, some might guess my family, and still others might say my stock in Horizon. Wrong on all counts! I treasure my faith more than anything. I have an unusually strong faith in God. I do not have all of the answers and many aspects of God will perhaps always remain a mystery, but I have a strong faith that God exists, that He loves me and all of humanity, and that He sent His Son Jesus to die for all of our sins. I do not doubt even for a moment. I could not always make that statement, but at this point in my life I can honestly state that I am absolutely 100% sure of my salvation.

How exactly He created the world and the entire universe, I don’t have a clue. The Bible gives us rudimentary information. Why He allows pain and suffering, and evil to co-exist with the children that He loves so dearly I do not know. The Bible tells us that He did not intend for it to be like it is today; however mankind disobeyed God by sinning and we fell from His grace. God is holy and cannot reconcile with us until we are free from sin. Jesus provides the only acceptable freedom from sin and is the only gate to reconcilement, but fortunately for the entire world, He stands ready to accept any who choose Him. Some are stubborn, some have doubts, and some are too busy, some just do not care, preferring evil over good; there are many reasons that faith can elude someone.

I know that there are many people who desperately want faith, because many have told me that they are struggling with it. They do not want to doubt. They want to be certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that when they die they will see Jesus and enter into heaven. How can we obtain faith? What works for me is Bible study. The Bible is God’s way of communication to us. Do you want to talk to God daily? Sure, unless you are a moron, most anyone would want to talk with God, the creator and most awesome power in all of creation. Most people use prayer for that talk. Prayer is YOU talking to God. Yes prayer is very important, but God primarily talks to us through the Bible and it is of the utmost importance. Unfortunately if the truth were known, WFTD might be the only small amount of Bible study that many of you have going on in your life.

God has His word available to you. Jesus quoted scripture constantly.
We need to hear God’s word and without it, faith would be impossible.

Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing
and hearing by the word of God.

How well do you know the Bible?
In heaven there will be a “River of Life, clear as crystal”. Where does it start?
Rev.22:1
