I told a good friend the other day that I dreaded having to go through judgment. He was surprised to hear that Christians will have to face judgment and give an accounting of everything they have done, both good and bad. Some people think that because they have confessed their sins to Jesus and received His loving grace and are saved from destruction that they will not have to face judgment. Wrong! There are two judgments, the Great White Throne of Judgment whereby the lost will be condemned to Hell, and the Judgment Seat of Christ which will be for His church, (saved people), and will occur when Christ returns for His church. At this judgment, Christians will give an accounting of everything they have done in their earthly lives, both good and bad. Rewards will be given for the good and the bad will be burned away.

Living Bible 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 There is going to come a time of testing at Christ’s Judgment Day to see what kind of material each builder has used. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire so that all can see whether or not it keeps its value, and what was really accomplished. Then every workman who has built on the foundation with the right materials, and whose work still stands, will get his pay. But if the house he has built burns up, he will have a great loss. He himself will be saved, but like a man escaping through a wall of flames.

New King James 2 Corinthians 5:10: For at the Judgment seat of Christ we are all to be seen for what we are, so that each of us may receive what he has deserved in the body, matched to whatever he has done, good or bad.

Living Bible 2 Corinthians 5:10: For we must all stand before Christ to be judged and have our lives laid barebefore him. Each of us will receive whatever he deserves for the good or bad things he has done in his earthly body.

Whew! Like I said I dread having to face God and account for all that I have done regardless of the fact that Jesus took my punishment and my sins are forgiven. God loves us for the sake of Jesus Christ, (in spite of the fact that we are sinners). Because of that we will be spared, but I will be deeply ashamed to watch some of the things that I have done recounted. On the other hand I am proud of some of the things that I have done for the Lord. After judgment that is all that will remain.

Will we be alone at judgment? We must stand before Gods judgment seat in the naked loneliness of our own souls; but, if we have accepted Christ in life, in death we will stand before God and Jesus will be the advocate to plead our cause.

Romans 14:11

For it is written:

As I live says the Lord,

Every knee shall bow to Me.

And every tongue shall confess

to God.

So then each of us shall give

account of himself to God.

How well do you know the Bible?

The book of Revelation was written on what island by what apostle?

Rev. 1:9
