Many things are difficult if not impossible to understand about God, the Bible, and God’s word. Unfortunately certain things have not been revealed to us and at least in human terms there is no logical explanation for some tough questions. An example might be an answer to the question that practically every non-Christian poses to me when I witness to them, what about all of those billions of people who have not ever heard of Jesus Christ, will they go to Hell?
The answers are there we just do not always accept them. For one thing the Bible tells us to lean not on our own understanding but to trust God in everything. It states that for now we see dimly as through a dirty mirror, but one day we will see clearly. It also states that we were created lower than God and that His ways are higher than ours. We do not have the capacity to know all things; indeed we are not God, rather God’s creatures. I do not know the answer to every question someone might pose, but I do know that God loved mankind enough to have His Son Jesus humble Himself greatly to come to this earth where He lived a perfect life and did nothing but good. He subjected Himself willingly to humiliation on our behalf. People beat Him, cursed Him, spat upon Him and horribly put Him to death. God did not endure that because He had to do so; he endured it because He loves us and wants to provide a pathway whereby we can once again be reunited with Him.
As for those who have not heard of His Son, their fate rests with God.
I “lean not on my own understanding” and trust that God will do the right thing and make the perfect decision concerning their fate.
Perhaps God will look at their heart and decide to treat some of them as He does a child who has not reached the age of accountability and allow them some special provision, or perhaps without the blood of Christ atoning for their sins they will face Hell. I just do not know and the Bible has not given us further explanation aside from everyone is guilty of sins and anyone who has reached an age of accountability that dies needs the sacrificial blood of Jesus to cover their sins in order to get into heaven.
I always tell those whom I have witnessed to that they should concern themselves more about their own fate for they indeed “have” heard about Jesus and without Him will surely face eternal suffering. We who have heard the plan of salvation all face the most important decision we will ever have to make concerning whether or not to believe in and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. Either we will choose to accept Him as our Savior, or we will reject Him. If we reject, we will go to Hell. If we accept we will be reconciled forever with God in paradise. There are no guarantees on time we have left. Make your decision and then lead others to Christ while there is still time…
John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again and
receive you to Myself; that where I
am there you may be also.
